McGuire comes to the cage accompanied by Metallica - Enter Sandman . Fjera has chosen Zoinkys as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 19 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, James McGuire!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Jodi Joe Fjera!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Colin Fotheringham and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGuire throws a body shot but no joy.
Fjera looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McGuire is fending him off so far but Fjera persists. Nope, McGuire circles away and we're back to standing.
McGuire walks forward, straight into a front kick from Fjera.
Fjera moves forwards but McGuire connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Fjera misses with a body kick.
Fjera throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
McGuire scores with a nice right hand.
McGuire lands a nice leg kick that just misses Fjera's sensitive parts.
Fjera looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
McGuire scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

McGuire closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Fjera breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fjera takes one on the button.
A looping hook to the body misses from Fjera. McGuire does a little dance to reset his feet.
McGuire is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
McGuire throws a body punch but Fjera moves out of range.
McGuire moves in looking to clinch but Fjera pushes him off.
McGuire darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McGuire misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McGuire cracks Fjera with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Fjera looks for the body kick but McGuire saw that one coming.
McGuire seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
McGuire throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A lazy left from Fjera finds it's target.
It looks like James McGuire has been cut.
McGuire punishes Fjera's body with a nice straight punch.
Fjera throws a wild body kick that McGuire sees coming a mile off.
Fjera is keeping his hands low and just asking to be knocked out. McGuire Raises his leg and lands a stunning axe kick! Fjera is out cold, face down on the mat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). James McGuire!
James McGuire very nearly forgot to thank Velocity Fightwear amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
Jodi Joe Fjera spoke after the fight, saying 'Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat'.
