15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Visa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Buck Richell! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Visa fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Richell sprawls well initially but Visa persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Visa performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Visa prevents Richell from improving his position. Visa seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Richell is concentrating on defense, preventing Visa from advancing position. Visa wants to control but Richell is keeping him busy. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Billy Visa has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Visa looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Richell is fending him off so far but Visa persists. Nope, Richell circles away and we're back to standing. Richell tries a head kick but it misses.

Visa has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Pewterschmidt thows a left - swing and a miss! Pewterschmidt lands with a shot to the body. Pewterschmidt uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ortiz.
