0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eddie Sheeks! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Bruno Lombardi and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thomas misses with a body shot.
Thomas connects with a single shot there. Sheeks pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Thomas cracks a nice hook into Sheeks's ribs. Thomas leaves Sheeks with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Thomas comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Sheeks swings and misses with a shot to the body and Thomas counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Sheeks looks gassed! Thomas drops Sheeks with a beautiful combination! Sheeks stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Thomas is looking for the KO!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Harrigan does it's job there. Harrigan misses with an uppercut. Thomas tries to close the distance and clinch but Harrigan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A left lands for Harrigan. Thomas pushes Harrigan up against the cage in a clinch. Thomas misses with a punch to the body.
Harrigan is trying to maintain a safe position but Thomas gets an underhook and turns Harrigan into the cage. Thomas lands a nice elbow. Harrigan blocks an elbow strike from Thomas.
Harrigan goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Harrigan stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Thomas takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Mike Harrigan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Thomas tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Harrigan paws at him with a jab and circles away. Harrigan lands a nice hook to Thomas's body. Thomas takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Thomas takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Harrigan connects with the punch. Thomas tries to clinch but Harrigan moves out of range. A head kick from Thomas lands but Harrigan takes it in his stride. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Harrigan lands a right hook to the body.

A low kick from Thomas lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Harrigan has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Harrigan and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Harrigan misses with a body shot.
Harrigan throws out a powerful jab. Harrigan smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Thomas on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Harrigan thuds his right hand into Thomas's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Harrigan connects with a crisp jab. Harrigan connects with a crisp jab. Harrigan scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Harrigan swats away the attempt to clinch by Thomas. Harrigan stuns Thomas with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thomas fails to land the takedown. Mike Harrigan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Llewellyn Thomas. Thomas tries to clinch up but Harrigan circles away and keeps his distance. Harrigan is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Thomas uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Harrigan. Harrigan wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Harrigan tests Thomas's chin there with a solid looking shot. Harrigan dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Thomas needs to keep his hands up - Harrigan had a free shot at his head there. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Harrigan connects with a nice looking jab.
Thomas tries to clinch but Harrigan moves out of range. A looping hook to the body misses from Harrigan. Thomas does a little dance to reset his feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Harrigan cracks a nice hook into Thomas's ribs. Harrigan with a nice cross. Harrigan fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Thomas on the side of the head.
Thomas is rocked! Harrigan ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Thomas's jaw. Thomas's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Harrigan does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.

Thomas looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Wright regains full guard. Nicely done. Wright is adopting a defensive guard. Thomas tries to free his leg and advance position but Wright is retaining full guard. Wright on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Wright tries to get out of the position. Thomas trying to move into half guard but instead Wright has managed to sweep!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Wright is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Thomas looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Wright misses with a body shot.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Wright swings for the body but Thomas moves out of range.

Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Thomas looking to pass the guard. Wright gets to his feet - Thomas follows without any prompting. Thomas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wright as he jumps to the side. Tony Wright has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricky Thomas. Wright throws a right hand that Thomas ducks under and follows up with a left that Thomas also avoids with ease. Wright looks to score with a jab to the body but Thomas is just out of range. Thomas keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Wright can't fight it off and eventually Thomas manages to take the fight to the floor. Wright looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Thomas looking to pass the guard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Castro shoots in but Piririca avoids the takedown attempt easily. Castro fails with a takedown attempt. Castro shoots in for a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Piririca wants it to stay on the feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
