Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kento Killa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jushin Liger! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Joseph Jones and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Liger has managed to clinch.
Killa is trying to push Liger away but Liger has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Liger pulls guard successfully.

Killa trying to control the position from guard on top but Liger is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Liger looking for a sweep. Not yet Liger, not yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Killa tries to free his leg and advance position but Liger is retaining full guard. Killa passes Liger's right leg, so he's now in half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Liger is doing well to control the position and prevent Killa from advancing to side control. Killa wants to control but Liger is keeping him busy.

Liger wants to get back to full guard but Killa has passed into side control. Killa wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Liger, who protects the arm well. Liger is not content to let Killa control the position. Killa is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Liger has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Killa is looking to take a break and control but Liger is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Liger tries to get back to half guard but can't. Killa looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Liger is not content to let Killa control the position. Killa looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Liger is squirming around, avoiding Killa's attempts to control the action. Killa controlling his opponent. Killa has hold of Liger's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Liger manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Liger is looking to get to half guard. Liger is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Liger really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Killa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Killa tries to control but Liger wriggling away. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Killa is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Liger is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Kento Killa dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Liger tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Killa swivels and escapes. Liger tries to clinch there but Killa circles away.
Liger shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Killa pinned against the cage. Killa gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Liger fails with a takedown attempt. Kento Killa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jushin Liger. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Liger looks for a takedown but Killa sprawls well. Killa drops down looking for a counter takedown but Liger sprawls and moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Liger shoots in but Killa avoids the takedown attempt easily. Killa feinted with a counter takedown. Liger closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Liger can't get the takedown.
Liger has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Killa uses from the top position. Killa drops back looking for a leg! Liger is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Liger manages to kick Killa off! Killa jumps back into Liger's guard. Killa controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Killa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Liger swivels though and keeps the full guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Liger can do anything to dispel that myth. Killa sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Liger's guard. Liger is refusing to be controlled, as Killa sits in half guard. Liger is trying to control but can't.
Liger is in trouble now - Killa has advanced to mount! Killa tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment. Killa controlling from mount.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Liger rolls, trying to escape but Killa keeps control of the position.

Liger is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Killa gets his way!

Nice work there by Killa. Liger looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Killa trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Liger is staying active underneath Killa, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Kento Killa overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Scott takes a swing at Parker's ribcage but misses. Scott dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Parker looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Scott is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Scott managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Parker.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scott can't do much from the bottom here. Scott is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Parker is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Parker putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! David Scott overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Parker avoids the attempt from Scott to control. Scott taking shots to the head. Scott takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Scott tries to hold on but Parker postures up. Parker lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Scott hang on? Scott sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Scott gets back to full guard.
Parker avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Scott working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Parker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Parker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Parker lands a couple of decent looking shots. Scott is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Parker can do to turn this around? Parker lands a couple of digs. Parker trying to control the position from guard on top but Scott is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Scott had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Parker defends it easily. This has been an exciting period of action! Parker keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Scott's head. Scott seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Scott looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Parker is sitting in close to Scott's body. Scott has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Parker is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Parker is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Scott.
