With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Spiridon Theato! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Chris Dean and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cooter missing with a left hand there. Theato was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Theato! But no joy. Cooter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Theato tries to avoid it but Cooter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Theato to the ground. Theato escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Cooter clinches up against the cage. Cooter gets control of Theato's arms and successfully pulls guard. Cooter will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Theato sitting in guard here, content to control. Theato wants to control from the top but Cooter keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cooter is pulling down on Theato's head to control his posture. Cooter trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Theato should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Cooter lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Theato seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Theato not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Cooter circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Cooter gets tackled into the cage by Theato. Theato maintains the clinch. Cooter jumps guard.
Cooter controls Theato momentarily but Theato frees himself. Theato looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Cooter is trying to control the position from the bottom.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Theato sitting in guard, not really doing much. Shek has a takedown stuffed. A lazy left from Shek finds it's target. Shek moves out of range of the strikes. Montenegro takes a jab right on the kisser.

Montenegro slips a nice elbow through Shek's hands, connecting with Shek's forehead. Shek really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Montenegro. Shek cracks Montenegro with an open hand slap. Montenegro moves in looking to clinch but Shek pushes him off. Montenegro shoots in and drives through. Shek sprawls well. Montenegro on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Shek must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Shek is continuing to stall.

It seemed like Shek was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Shek ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Good standup being displayed there by Shek as he connects with a hook. Montenegro throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Shek circles away from the clinch attempt.
Shek lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Shek fails to land the takedown. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Shek lands the left hand. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Trek Shek showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round! Montenegro tries to clinch there but Shek circles away.

Shek shoots in looking for a takedown but Montenegro manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Shek's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Montenegro takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Shek shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Montenegro pinned against the cage. Montenegro gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Montenegro throws a lazy right hand but Shek sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Trek Shek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shek dives in for a single leg takedown but Montenegro sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Shek with a poor takedown and Montenegro cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Jab, jab by Shek - just one landing. Shek darts in looking for a takedown but Montenegro gets double underhooks and turns Shek into the cage. Shek takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Shek shoots in looking for a takedown. Montenegro tries to sprawl out of it but Shek keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Montenegro manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. A little feinted left hand from Montenegro on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Montenegro takes one on the button. Montenegro is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Shek drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. This has been an exciting period of action! Shek wants to stand but Montenegro has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard. Montenegro wants to get back to his feet but Shek is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shek wants to control from the top but Montenegro keeps moving. Shek might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Montenegro haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Montenegro is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Shek is controlling him. Montenegro trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Shek showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Montenegro takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Montenegro looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Shek shoots in for a takedown but Montenegro shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Shek fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Montenegro shoots in and drives through. Shek sprawls well. Montenegro tries to clinch there but Shek circles away.
A little jabbing left from Shek on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Nice sprawl there from Shek as Montenegro shoots in.
And that's the end of the fight! Trek Shek comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Shek has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

McKinley seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Blacktoe shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in McKinley's guard. Blacktoe content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. McKinley has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Blacktoe can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Blacktoe landing some decent shots from guard. McKinley controls Blacktoe momentarily but Blacktoe frees himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Blacktoe controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Blacktoe looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Blacktoe controlling the position here and throwing strikes from the top. Nice elbow lands there... and another... and another... oh, McKinley is out! Blacktoe gets to his feet and admires his work - nice finish!

Chi throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Well, if Chi is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
