Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Axel Montenegro (ranked 1632 p4p, 1549 weight class) and Padraig Ahearn (ranked 49 p4p, 48 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Montenegro might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Battle. Ahearn has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

This one could be over very soon! Blacktoe goes limp - he's gone! Panda jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Galopin staying out of range there.
Nti throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Nti is breathing heavily.

Nti gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Galopin to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Galopin drops back looking for a leg! Nti is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nti manages to kick Galopin off! Galopin jumps back into Nti's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nti's coaches at Deathsquad have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

It looks like Galopin might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Let's hope that Galopin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Zaire tries for a takedown but Control sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Control throws out a counter right but Zaire avoids it with no problem.

Zaire shoots in and gets a takedown into Control's guard.

Zaire drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Control dives on top into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zaire wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Control got a little sloppy there for a moment and Zaire has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Control has managed to get both his arms back between Zaire's legs - danger averted.

Control is sitting in close to Zaire's body. Zaire has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Control is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Control is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Zaire.

Frank tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rei swats him away and circles back towards the center.

It looks like Everest Frank has been cut.
Rei throws a series of punches but Frank avoids them all with ease.

Rei gets tackled into the cage by Frank. Frank maintains the clinch.
Rei misses with a short punch on the inside.
Rei lands an uppercut.

Frank jumps into guard, dragging Rei to the mat.

Rei has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Frank takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Rei throws a body shot but no joy.
Frank takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Ramesses Rei is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Rei throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nice straight punches there by Rei. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Rei.
Rei lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Rei.
That has opened up Everest Frank's cut even more.
Rei tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Frank was well out of range. Poor timing from Rei.
Rei ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Frank closes the distance and pushes Rei back into the cage.
Frank tries to work over Rei's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
A head punch on the inside from Rei fails to land.

Frank jumps guard.
Frank doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Rei controlling from the top position.
Rei looking to sit in guard and control but Frank gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Frank slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Frank working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Frank keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Rei's head.
Rei on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rei tries to get out of the position.
Frank wants to control from the top but Rei keeps moving.
Rei utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Frank postures up and lands a big shot to Rei's brow.
Frank stands up over Rei, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Frank is looking to work some ground and pound but Rei has wrist control.

Bricks swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Cosby.

Bricks is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Cosby flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Cosby is out cold! Bricks holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

It looks like Carlos Lopez has been cut.
Lopez scores with a nice strike.
Lopez does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Lopez takes one to the side of the head.
Smoke rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Lopez counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Lopez misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Smoke counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Smoke connects with the punch.
Lopez on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Smoke throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Smoke throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Lopez counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Smoke moves out of range of the strikes.
Smoke swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Smoke lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Lopez out cold! Lopez is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!
