The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Peter has closed the distance and engaged Porfirigo in a clinch.
Porfirigo throws a knee to the head but misses.
Peter tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Peter taking a breather.
Porfirigo has Peter pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Peter manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Peter tries to stall but Porfirigo uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Peter misses with some punches.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

That was a close second round but I would say that Alex Peter will probably get the nod.

Peter has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Alex Peter.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Peter, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Samson Komua (ranked 2198 p4p, 18352 weight class) and Dustin Poirier (ranked 298 p4p, 661 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Komua might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Fangai Lupe. Poirier is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Boss- James Brown. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Poirier throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A little feinted left hand from Komua on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Poirier takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Poirier swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Komua misses with a wild body shot.

and Komua counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Komua lands a big uppercut and Poirier crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Poirier looks OK. Komua waves Poirier back to his feet!

and Komua counters with a nice right hand that sends Poirier toppling to the canvas! Poirier scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Komua finish him?!
That has opened up Dustin Poirier's cut even more.

Komua lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Poirier up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Komua from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Poirier's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

It looks like Jean Mbappe has been cut.
We've been told by Mbappe's head coaches at Puncher's Chance Collective that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Mbappe fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ridgewood sprawls well initially but Mbappe persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Mbappe walks straight into a right hand from Ridgewood - that's dropped him! Ridgewood jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Mbappe from any more punishment! Mbappe complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

In his post fight interview, Barry Ridgewood started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
