Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pierre Ragout Mendy! The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Darius Henderson and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendy fails with a takedown attempt. Mendy scores with a body shot.
Mendy gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Jones counters with a straight right hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mendy is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jones. Mendy loads up on a big right hand but Jones slips the punch. Mendy misses with a hook. Jones ducked under it nicely. Jones tries to counter by clinching up but Mendy breaks away and moves out of range. Mendy looks to throw a body kick and Jones counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Mendy working his ground and pound in the gym. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mendy is in close to Jones's body, working some short punches and elbows. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Alex Jones will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Mendy shoots in for a takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mendy wants to pass to mount but Jones is defending the position. Jones has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mendy pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Mendy has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Jones's face.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big head kick from Koniu and Haardt is sent sprawling to the canvas! Haardt is rocked! It looks like Bertel Haardt has been cut. Koniu gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Haardt is still on wobbly legs! Can Koniu finish him? Koniu sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Haardt's defenses. It connects perfectly with Haardt's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Supreme misses the jab. Struss thuds a left hand into Supreme's body. Supreme misses with a wild body shot. Supreme throws a lazy right hand but Struss sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Despite the aggression on Struss's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Supreme jabbing away but nothing is landing. Supreme walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Struss fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Supreme throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Struss sees it coming and avoids it easily. Supreme thows a leg kick but Struss checks it and Struss counters with a nice uppercut. Supreme takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Supreme throws a hook to the side of Struss's head but Struss sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Struss misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Supreme.
Supreme throws a nice looking combination but Struss bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Supreme misses with a straight right. Supreme throws a hook but Struss blocks it. Struss has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Supreme is landing a low percentage of strikes. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Struss!

With a record of 16 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Little Kitty Sripituksakul! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kaiji Inoue! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Ben Watson and Chris Dean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Inoue tries to sprawl but Sripituksakul drives through with a takedown into half guard. Inoue gets full guard. Sripituksakul with a flurry of punches that miss. Inoue controls Sripituksakul momentarily but Sripituksakul frees himself. Sripituksakul has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
