Texas comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Aggie Fight Song kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

It looked like Godoi wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Barbosa takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Barbosa throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Godoi on the side of the head.

Barbosa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Godoi looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
It looks like Santiago Ponziabo has been cut.
Diaz throws a series of punches but Ponziabo moves out of range.

Ponziabo gets a double leg takedown into Diaz's guard.

Ponziabo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Ponziabo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Diaz has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Ponziabo's body.
Well, with Diaz on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Ponziabo is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Diaz has the hooks in. Ponziabo is starting to panic. He's trying to push off one of the legs but he's left his neck open to attack. Diaz passes his arm under Ponziabo's neck and tightens up a rear naked choke! This one is surely all over! Yes, Ponziabo taps!

After the fight, Noel Diaz was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
Santiago Ponziabo spoke after the fight, saying 'Fuck off, I got work to do.'.
