Dean has chosen Sweet Caroline as his entrance music. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbosa pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Barbosa catches Godoi with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Barbosa dives in for a single leg takedown but Godoi sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Barbosa shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Godoi as he avoids it easily.

It looks like Lucas Barbosa has been cut.

Horrible takedown attempt by Barbosa or perhaps it was just good defense by Godoi, which made it look bad.
Godoi went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

It looked like Godoi wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

and Godoi counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Godoi takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Barbosa takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Barbosa throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Godoi on the side of the head.

Barbosa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Godoi looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

After the fight, Noel Diaz was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
Santiago Ponziabo spoke after the fight, saying 'Fuck off, I got work to do.'.
