Bernier bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Bernier fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Bernier connects with a looping right hand.
Gracie shoots in looking for a takedown but Bernier manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gracie's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Bernier was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Bernier lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Gracie has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Gracie and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shalashaska steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Koppia.
Koppia lands the left hand.

and Shalashaska counters with a lovely straight right hand!

and Shalashaska counters with a left and a right that stings Koppia.
Ottaa Koppia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Koppia throws a nice looking combination but Shalashaska bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Shalashaska wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Koppia rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Shalashaska moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Shalashaska went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Koppia cracks Shalashaska with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Koppia has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Shalashaska to stand back up!

We've been hearing reports that Shalashaska has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Koppia looks to land a left hand but Shalashaska moved out of range nicely.
Koppia cracks Shalashaska on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Shalashaska falls backwards against the cage. Koppia follows up with more strikes that drop Shalashaska to his knees. Koppia keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Shalashaska! This one is all over!
