Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 15 - 5 - 2, fighting out of Hilo, Matt Askren! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 29 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Dominic Trujillo! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Askren uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Trujillo.
Trujillo throws a hook to the side of Askren's head but Askren sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Askren tries to close the distance and clinch up but Trujillo swats him away and circles back towards the center. Trujillo swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Askren tries to counter with a takedown but Trujillo is quick to defend against it. Askren throws a body punch but Trujillo moves out of range. Trujillo looks to score with a jab to the body but Askren is just out of range. Trujillo throws a hook but Askren avoids it easily. Askren appears to be looking for a counter takedown. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Trujillo lands on the inside with an uppercut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Trujillo wants to take the fight to the mat but Askren manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Askren's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Askren looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Trujillo loads up on a big right hand but Askren slips the punch. Askren feinted with a counter takedown. Trujillo swings for the body but Askren moves out of range.
Trujillo bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Askren jabs at Trujillo's body. Nice defenses there by Askren. Trujillo misses with a low kick. Trujillo scores with a sloppy right hand. Askren should have avoided that one. The fighters circling - Askren throws out the jab but it was never going to land. A momentary lapse in concentration from Askren enables Trujillo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Askren manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Askren showed some decent athleticism there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Askren is looking to take a break and control but Trujillo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Can Trujillo avoid being mounted? Askren wants to pass to mount but Trujillo is defending the position. Askren wants to control but Trujillo is keeping him busy. Perkele stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Perkele wants it to stay on the feet. Perkele throws a looping overhand right but Camacho ducks down to avoid it. Perkele fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Camacho looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Camacho scores with a jab to the body. Camacho manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Perkele on his heels. He'll look to pass Perkele's guard now, I'm sure. The fighters are working up against the cage. Perkele manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Camacho takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Camacho has a couple of punches blocked by Perkele.

Leagatius throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Steel catches Leagatius with a nice straight right. He thinks about going to the ground but Steel looks back up at him and smiles so Leagatius waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Steel is rocked! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Leagatius will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
