Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Masvidal (ranked 6184 p4p, 4158 weight class) and Andrei Aphelion (ranked 549 p4p, 473 weight class). Masvidal's entrance music is Scarface. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jorge Masvidal! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andrei Aphelion! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aphelion fails in his attempt to clinch. Masvidal throws a sloppy head kick and Aphelion moves out of range easily. Aphelion throws a right and a left that Masvidal avoids nicely. Aphelion's jab looks to have found its range, popping Masvidal under the eye. Aphelion scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Masvidal throws a lazy head kick and Aphelion counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Aphelion throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Aphelion cracks a nice hook into Masvidal's ribs. Masvidal scores with a one two! Aphelion had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. It looks like Andrei Aphelion has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Aphelion forces Masvidal back against the cage and clinches. Masvidal wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Aphelion has him pressed against the cage. Aphelion breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Aphelion blocks a jab. Masvidal throws a head kick that misses. Masvidal lunges at Aphelion with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Aphelion's hand. Aphelion is rocked! We've been informed that Aphelion has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Masvidal swinging wildly here.
Masvidal moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromAphelion. Aphelion is still on wobbly legs! Can Masvidal finish him? Masvidal lands a nice looking kick to the body. Aphelion takes a step back to recover. Aphelion tries to clinch but Masvidal is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Masvidal bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Aphelion looks winded! Masvidal looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Masvidal backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Aphelion's temple! It sends Aphelion violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Masvidal celebrates and the doctors try to help Aphelion!

With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jaz Moore! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jacob Pokorney! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pokorney gets in close and instigates a clinch. Pokorney blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Pokorney works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Pokorney slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Moore looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pokorney is one step ahead there. Pokorney wants to control from the top but Moore keeps moving. Pokorney throwing strikes but missing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Moore working a defensive guard but Pokorney passes into half guard.
Moore wants to control but Pokorney is keeping busy and won't allow it. Pokorney sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pokorney is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Pokorney looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Moore with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Pokorney is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Moore is just riding it out for now. Pokorney eventually gives up the hold. Pokorney looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Moore is trying to maintain the position but Pokorney is very close to passing his half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Pokorney seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Pokorney is pressing down on Moore's thigh, looking to free his foot. Moore is holding on for now. Moore regains full guard. Nicely done. Moore knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pokorney on the ground. Pokorney content to stall in guard here. Pokorney works over Moore with some ground and pound from guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pokorney slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Moore doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pokorney passes into half guard under a barage of strikes. Pokorney wants to control but Moore is keeping him busy. Pokorney is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Moore is trying to control but Pokorney manages to pass to mount!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Moore wants to hold on but Pokorney pushes him away. Pokorney with shots to the head and body - Moore looks very uncomfortable down there. The referee warns Moore that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Pokorney cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Pokorney tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Pokorney lands a couple of good shots and Moore has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Moore wants to control his opponent's hands but Pokorney gets his hands free. Pokorney controls the position. Pokorney avoiding Moore 's attempts to control his hands. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jacob Pokorney dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Moore keeps the fight on the outside. Moore went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Pokorney. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Pokorney rushes Moore and presses him up against the cage. Moore misses with a hook from the clinch. Moore misses with some punches.

But no, Moore has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Pokorney shoots in but Moore avoids the takedown attempt easily. Pokorney fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Moore fails with the takedown. Pokorney unleashes a big counter combination but Moore bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pokorney has a takedown stuffed. Moore throws a big counter combination but Pokorney scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Jaz Moore has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jacob Pokorney. Pokorney misses with a head kick.

That's better than Pokorney was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! You can see the frustration on Moore's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Pokorney wants to lay and pray for a moment but Moore keeps working. Moore tries to improve position but can't. Moore wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land. Pokorney avoids the strikes from the bottom by Moore. Jacob Pokorney has got the better of the ground game so far. Moore tries to strike from the bottom but misses. Moore is trying to escape and get back to his feet. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Pokorney wants to control but Moore is keeping him busy.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pokorney. Pokorney looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Moore is fending him off so far but Pokorney persists. Nope, Moore circles away and we're back to standing. Moore will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Pokorney bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pokorney lands a few punches from side control. Pokorney controlling the position. Pokorney working the ground and pound. Pokorney takes a little break here. Moore wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Pokorney wants to stand but Moore is controlling his arm. Moore is trying to control Pokorney's posture but Pokorney avoids it. Pokorney working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Pokorney controls the position. Moore is looking to reverse the position. Pokorney cracks Moore with a big right hand but Moore just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Pokorney happy to just control the position for now. Jaz Moore has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Pokorney trying to control the action but Moore is working from the bottom. Moore tries to get back to half guard but can't. Jacob Pokorney is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Moore is trying to strike from the bottom but Pokorney has passed into full mount.

With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jurdy Postman! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Richard Clark and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Postman shoots in for a takedown but Holt shows good takedown defense. Holt throws a head kick but Postman moves out of range.

Despite the aggression on Postman's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Postman wants to clinch up but Holt keeps it at a distance. Holt gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Holt is trying to drag Postman to the mat but Postman just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Holt breaks from the clinch.

and Postman counters with a shoot takedown. Holt fights it but they end up in guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Postman decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Holt, up you get! Postman closes the distance and clinches up with Holt, looking for a takedown. Postman pushes Holt against the cage but Holt circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Holt shoots in looking for a takedown. Postman tries to sprawl out of it but Holt keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Postman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Postman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Holt as he avoids it easily. Postman looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Postman doesn't succeed with the takedown and Postman takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Postman looks winded! A punch combination from Holt misses. Holt checks a low kick from Postman. Postman has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far. Postman takes a kick to the side of the head. Holt instigates a clinch. Postman looking to stall.

Holt is looking to control Postman's arms but Postman gets an underhook and turns him. Now Holt has his back to the cage. Holt breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

As Postman tries to get set, Holt tries to push him back and clinch up but Postman manages to avoid the attempt. Postman tries to clinch but Holt is having none of it. Raymond Holt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Postman dives in and grabs Holt's left leg, looking for a takedown. Holt pushes down on Postman's head and hops out. A very excited looking Sepi Pulkkinen rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
