Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joao Perez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Balabak Agayo! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Paulo Santos and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perez moves in looking to clinch but Agayo pushes him off. Agayo feints and as Perez raises his hands in defense, Agayo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Perez keeping full guard, as Agayo tries to pass. Perez is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Agayo presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Agayo has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Perez regains guard immediately. Perez is trying to keep Agayo in close.
Perez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Agayo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Agayo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Perez looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Agayo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Perez swivels though and keeps the full guard. Agayo scoring with punches to the head and body. Perez throws his legs up looking for a submission but Agayo uses it to pass to side control.
Agayo swings around for an armbar but Perez sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Agayo's guard. Perez looking to pass the guard. Agayo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Perez defends it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Agayo keeping moving, preventing Perez from controlling successfully. Perez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Agayo works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Agayo keeping moving, preventing Perez from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Perez trying to stand up but can't free himself from Agayo's guard.

Perez throws an overhand right that lands on Agayo's shoulder, as Agayo tries to avoid the shot. Agayo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Agayo seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Perez misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Perez moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Perez is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Balabak Agayo will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Perez shoots in and drives through. Agayo sprawls well. Agayo wants to counter with a clinch but Perez pushes him away. Perez throws a leg kick and Agayo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Perez won't be happy with that. Perez is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Perez regains half guard. Perez wants to control but Agayo is keeping busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Perez is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Agayo takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith tries to clinch up but Ebon circles away and keeps his distance. Ebon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Smith throws the kick towards the body but Ebon avoids it. Smith misses with a takedown attempt - Ebon sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Smith fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ebon avoids it really well and circles away. Smith looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Smith tries to clinch but Ebon moves out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smith shoots in for a double leg but Ebon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him. Smith closes the distance but Ebon moves to the side and Ebon counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Ebon tries to pass the half guard into mount. Roberts manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Roberts has Fisher pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Fisher manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Roberts can't get the takedown.

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Roberts tries to get out of the position. Fisher takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Roberts swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Roberts slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Tanaka is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from McLarry. McLarry is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
