The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Halo fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lalla to the ground. Halo is now in Lalla's guard.
Lalla has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at JAG Battle Gym. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Lalla throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Halo slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Halo wants to control from the top but Lalla keeps moving.
Lalla is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Halo tries to free his leg and advance position but Lalla is retaining full guard.

Lalla looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Lalla wants to sweep here but Halo controlling him for the moment.
Lalla is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Lalla working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Halo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Halo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Halo not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Lalla has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Halo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Halo trying to control the position from guard on top but Lalla is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Halo not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Halo has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Lalla looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Lalla had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Halo defends it easily.
Halo advances position into side control!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lalla is looking to reverse the position.

Halo is working to tighten his grip on Lalla's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Lalla has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Halo is really squeezing tight and eventually Lalla passes out! Halo breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
