Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Davies (ranked 4112 p4p, 4072 weight class) and AJ Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 510 weight class). Adams is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Gold Medalist. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that AJ Adams was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Davies! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, AJ Adams! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A lazy left from Davies finds it's target. Davies ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Adams moves away. Davies thuds a left hand into Adams's body. Adams scores with a one two! Davies had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Adams lands a head kick!
Adams pushes Davies up against the cage in a clinch. Davies lands an elbow inside that Adams shrugs off. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Adams just misses with a elbow thrown towards Davies's brow. A left hand lands to the body for Davies.
Davies lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Adams backwards. This has been an exciting period of action! Adams is trying to pull guard but Davies has him pressed against the cage. Davies prevents Adams from breaking the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davies lands an elbow inside that Adams shrugs off. Davies scores with a nice hook to the head. Davies lands with a light punch inside. Davies lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Adams backwards. Adams is rocked! Adams misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Davies.
Adams is still on wobbly legs! Can Davies finish him? Adams's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Adams is pressed against the cage. Davies pushes back and unleashes a big elbow that really hurts Adams! Two more big strikes from Davies and Adams crumples to the mat and taps out furiously due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Walter Waite! The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Chris Dean and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Waite throws the left hand but Arkwright avoids the punch easily. Arkwright fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Arkwright tries to close the distance and clinch but Waite swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Waite shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Arkwright sprawls well. Arkwright wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Waite gets slowly back to his feet. Arkwright is looking to counter punch. Arkwright is looking to clinch. Waite's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Arkwright connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Waite scrambles back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Arkwright swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Waite feints the counter takedown. Waite throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Arkwright tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Waite manages to circle out of the way. Waite walks into a stiff left hand from Arkwright. Waite drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arkwright seems keen to control Waite's posture. Waite controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Waite wants to control from the top but Arkwright keeps moving. Waite might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Arkwright haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Waite with a flurry of punches that miss. Arkwright avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Waite has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Waite passes Arkwright's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Waite winds up and cracks Arkwright with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Waite wants to free his trapped foot but Arkwright is holding on for dear life with his legs. Waite sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Arkwright defending well though. Waite is trying to control the action in half guard but Arkwright is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Waite takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Waite throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Waite cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Arkwright wants to control but Waite is having none of it. Waite postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Arkwright looks a forlorn figure.
Waite scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Arkwright?
Waite working for a guillotine from mount but Arkwright is in no mood to give up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Waite lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Waite cracks Arkwright with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
This has been an exciting period of action! Waite with a couple of short strikes. Waite is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Waite extends the arm and Arkwright is forced to tap!
