The bell rings for round one and we are underway! An inside leg kick lands from James. James lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
It looks like Puppy Duke has been cut. Duke slips a jab and a cross from James.
A slapping body kick lands there for James. Duke attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. James blocks a head kick by Duke.
Duke looks to land a body kick but James moved away. A shot to the liver by James. Beautiful body shot. Duke tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but James was well out of range. Poor timing from Duke. James throws a shot to the body.
James avoids the body shot from Duke.
James connects with a jab. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Duke swings away with a leg kick that misses. James goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. James cracks Duke with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Duke looks to land a combination but James avoids it well. Duke with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling James to score with a decent uppercut. Duke blocks a head kick by James.
James lands a nice hook to Duke's body. Duke takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Puppy Duke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Duke looks gassed! Duke moves forwards but James connects with a nice, crisp jab. James pushes Duke up against the cage in a clinch. A short right from James. A shot in the inside from James. A left hand lands to the body for James.

James throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. A short uppercut from James. James digs a right hand into Duke's ribs. James creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Duke's defenses. Still in the clinch, James scores with a nice short uppercut. James gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. James trying to mount his opponent but Duke defends it. James knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Duke on the ground. Duke is refusing to be controlled, as James sits in half guard. James wants to free his trapped foot but Duke is holding on for dear life with his legs. Duke wants to get back to full guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! James lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. James looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. James thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. James checks a leg kick nicely. James moves away from the strike by Duke. James throws a front kick that sends Duke stumbling back into the cage. No joy there for Duke, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
James scores with a decent looking hook. Duke just misses with a punch to the body.
Duke looks to land a right hand but James moved out of range. James fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Duke throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Duke throws a head kick that half lands.
James's corner calls for a 1-2. James obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. A head kick from James lands but Duke takes it in his stride. James moves into the clinch. Duke has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. James is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. James lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Duke backwards. James makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. James lands a nice uppercut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. James scores with a shot to the side of Duke's head. James breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Duke tries to land a body kick and James moves into the clinch. James scores with a nice hook to the head. James lands a nice elbow from the clinch. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. James gets a warning from the ref for wasting time. Duke changes levels and goes for a takedown here. James fights it off and pushes away nicely.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! James lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Jesse James dominated that round. The cut man is working on Puppy Duke's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Is there anything that Duke can do to turn this around? Duke on the wrong end of a nice jab. James moves into the clinch. Good body shot from James.
Duke tries to score a body lock takedown but James shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Duke changes levels and goes for a takedown here. James fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Duke walks forward, straight into a front kick from James. Duke throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and James counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. James throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Duke crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from James - the referee stops the clock and Duke gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says James. Duke manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! James has managed to clinch.

James takes the fight into the clinch. Duke has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from James. Duke tries to pull guard but James holds him up against the cage and eventually Duke drops back down to his feet.

James moves into range and clinches up with Duke. Duke is looking for a takedown up against the cage. James gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. James lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Duke's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! James lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. James lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. James scores with an uppercut up the middle. James lands with a short shot to the head. James ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. James no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. James on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if James tries to get out of the position. Duke tries to free his leg and advance position but James is retaining full guard. Duke is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! James is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! James has escaped and now he's on top! James is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James looking to pass the guard. Duke is trying to control the position but James postures up. James is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Duke keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully. Duke wants to stand up but James is controlling him. James postures up in Duke's guard and throws a big left but Duke blocks it.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. James bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Duke's head backwards. Duke throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent James stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Duke stuns James with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. A looping hook to the body misses from Duke. James does a little dance to reset his feet. James tries to close the distance and clinch but Duke swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. James scores with the left hand. Duke knows he should have avoided that one. Duke looks to throw the jab but James is out of range. A punch combination from Duke misses. James takes the fight into the clinch. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. James lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. James breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Duke throws a looping overhand right but James ducks down to avoid it. Duke throws a head kick that misses and James counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by James. James manages to break the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. A combination from Duke does no damage. Duke takes one on the button. Duke on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Duke tries to bum rush James with a series of wild strikes but James uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Jesse James is winning the standup battle so far. James throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. James postures up.

Harnick pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Shom Harnick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Harnick clinches up against the cage. Harnick's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Harnick looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Harnick in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Himura is fighting it off but Harnick persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Himura's guard against the cage. Himura really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Himura keeping moving, preventing Harnick from controlling successfully. Harnick decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Nice shot by Harnick. Himura sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Himura takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Harnick shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Harnick stands up out of the half guard. Harnick lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Himura working a defensive guard but Harnick passes into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Harnick has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Himura is trying to reverse the position but instead Harnick has taken his back - oops! Himura defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Harnick's arms. Harnick is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Himura. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped. Himura is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Harnick gets his way!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Harnick has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Himura's body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Harnick has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Harnick sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Himura taps out!

Finley tries to roll over but Day keeps him under control. Day wants to lay and pray for a moment but Finley keeps working. Finley is trying to get back to full guard. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garner swings and misses with a hook to the body.
