Renato Laranja decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Can enables Grapple to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Can manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Can trying to keep a closed guard but Grapple is proving a slippery customer.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Grapple working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Can has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Grapple off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Francis Oosthuizen (ranked 652 p4p, 1186 weight class) and Jah Wobble (ranked 90 p4p, 153 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Wobble's choice of entrance music: Jimmy Barnes - Working Class Man. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.
