The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Cox is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Soze breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Cox throws a leg kick which misses Soze's front leg but catches the back leg as Soze tries to avoid it.

Soze tries for a takedown but Cox sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Cox darts in and clinches Soze up against the cage.

Cox is fighting off a takedown attempt but Soze is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Cox to the mat. Cox regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

That was a close round but I would say that Kaiser Soze will probably get the nod.

Johnson moves in looking to clinch but Gizzel pushes him off.
Johnson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Gizzel tries to clinch there but Johnson circles away.

Gizzel shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Johnson's guard.
Johnson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gizzel is controlling him.
Johnson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gizzel prevents Johnson from getting back to his feet.

Johnson pushes Gizzel off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Gizzel crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Johnson - the referee stops the clock and Gizzel gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Johnson. Gizzel manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Johnson lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Gizzel shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Johnson as he jumps to the side.
Johnson pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Johnson! Gizzel is out on his feet! Johnson rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Gizzel is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Gizzel is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
