Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ben Bailey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kon Kastas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ben Bailey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kon Kastas!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bailey changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kastas looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Bailey wants to control but Kastas is keeping him busy.

Bailey goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Kastas rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Bailey's guard! Nice work there by Kastas!
Kastas pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bailey is keeping the position for now.
Kastas is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Bailey trying to keep a closed guard but Kastas is proving a slippery customer.
Kastas wants to control from the top but Bailey keeps moving.

Kastas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bailey swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bailey manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Bailey fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Bailey clinches up against the cage.
Bailey is trying to break free.
Kastas has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Bailey avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kastas is trying to break free.
A frustrated look appears on Kastas's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Kastas jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bailey walks away with a smile on his face. Kastas gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Kastas shoots in but Bailey avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Ben Bailey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kon Kastas.
Kastas misses with a takedown attempt
and Bailey counters with a one-two to the body.
Ben Bailey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bailey forces Kastas back against the cage and clinches.

Bailey gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Kastas keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Bailey is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kastas pushes Bailey off looking to stand but Bailey dives back in and keeps control.
Bailey works his foot free and advances to mount.
Kastas is looking to improve his position but Bailey isn't that keen on the idea.

Kastas sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Bailey thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kastas's head.
Bailey winds up and cracks Kastas with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Kastas misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Bailey trying to control from half guard but Kastas is working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bailey missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Bailey throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Kastas gets back to full guard.
Bailey is breathing heavily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bailey looking to sit in guard and control but Kastas gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Kastas won't allow Bailey to sweep him here.
Kastas content to stall in guard here.
Bailey is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Kastas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bailey swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ben Bailey dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Bailey moves into the clinch.

Bailey escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kastas gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
enabling Bailey to counter with a crisp jab.
Ben Bailey is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kastas slips a jab and a cross from Bailey.
Bailey throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Bailey scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Kastas closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Kastas working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Bailey is trying to escape the position but Kastas is controlling the position.

Bailey is trying to improve his position.
You can see the frustration on Bailey's face as Kastas controls the position.
Kastas tries to move to mount but Bailey blocks the move with his legs.

Bailey throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bailey leaves Kastas with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bailey moves out of range of the body kick from Kastas.
Kastas tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bailey sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kastas somewhat.
Ben Bailey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kon Kastas.
Kastas takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Bailey looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Kastas shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bailey manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Kastas wants to stand but Bailey has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Bailey is trying to stand.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Kastas is working for a kimura but Bailey is defending it quite comfortably.
Kastas is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Bailey has a hand on Kastas's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Kastas takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kon Kastas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Bailey moves out of range of the body kick.

Kastas shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kastas gets to his feet - Bailey follows without any prompting.
Bailey works over Kastas's head and body with a nice combination.

Kastas gets caught flat footed, as Bailey shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Kastas wants to sweep but no luck.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kastas controlling the position.

Kastas is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bailey defends well.
Kastas looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Bailey trying to control the position from guard on top but Kastas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kastas is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Bailey is looking to escape.
Kastas controlling the pace.
Let's hope that Kastas has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bailey is trying to stand up here but Kastas is controlling him well.

Kastas stands up and beckons Bailey to join him on the feet.

Kastas drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Bailey tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Kastas looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Bailey is avoiding damage well.
Bailey seems a little lost for a moment, as Kastas dominates the positioning.
Kastas advances to mount.
Kastas misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kastas looking to control and managing it successfully.
Kastas's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kon Kastas comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kastas has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
