The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simbolon throws a head kick but Jones moves out of range.
King Simbolon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Simbolon clinches.

Simbolon breaks from the clinch.
A left and a right from Jones both land. Nice combination.
Jones tries to score a power double leg takedown but Simbolon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jones somewhat.

Simbolon darts in and clinches Jones up against the cage.

Simbolon pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jones's coach down at Dodgers was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Jones's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but Simbolon shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Simbolon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Simbolon looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Jones jumps guard but Simbolon stands there with Jones around his waist. Jones gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Simbolon creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Jones's defenses.

It looks like Dexter Jones has been cut.

Simbolon ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Simbolon no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Jones stands and throws Simbolon's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Simbolon tries to buck Jones off but Jones is having none of it.

Jones working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Jones is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Simbolon knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Simbolon is trying to get back to his feet.

Jones tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jones has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Jones is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Simbolon is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Simbolon reaches up around Jones's neck trying to control. But Jones takes advantage instantly and he's locked on an arm triangle! Big trouble for Simbolon! Oh that looks nasty! A human being's head is not meant to turn that color! Simbolon is out! He's gone limp! The ref steps in to break the fighters up and Jones celebrates the victory with the fans!
