Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommy Gunn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Tate! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tate is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Gunn seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Tate wants to clinch and Gunn counters with a thumping low kick. Gunn tries to land a front kick but Tate steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. A nice side step and Tate releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Jab by Gunn. It looks like William Tate has been cut. Tate tries to clinch up but Gunn circles away and keeps his distance. Tate tries to clinch but Gunn is having none of it. Tate fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gunn circles away from the clinch attempt and Gunn counters with a straight punch to the midsection. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gunn throws a series of punches but Tate avoids them all with ease. Gunn throws a head kick that misses. Tate wants to clinch up but Gunn keeps it at a distance.

Tate's jab looks to have found its range, popping Gunn under the eye. The fight stays on the outside here - Tate looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Tate tries to clinch but Gunn moves away and Gunn counters with a head kick. Gunn definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Gunn lands with an uppercut that bounces Tate off the ropes and back into range. Tate avoids a kick to the body.

Gunn manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Tate tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Tate steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gunn. Tate is looking to clinch.

and Tate counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. It looks like Tommy Gunn has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Tate fails with an attempt to clinch.

Gunn lands with an overhand left. Gunn rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tate moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Tate throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gunn. Gunn throws a big counter combination but Tate scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gunn lands a nice looking kick to the body. Tate takes a step back to recover. A nice leg kick lands there from Gunn. Tate looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Gunn lands a nice looking body kick. Gunn throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Tate steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Gunn. An inside leg kick lands from Gunn. Gunn misses with a combination
and Tate counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Gunn misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Tate.
Tate slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Tate tries to close the distance and clinch but Gunn swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tate tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Gunn manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. A good leg kick by Gunn. Gunn throws a head kick that misses and Tate counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tate scores with a crisp jab that stopped Gunn in his tracks. Nice uppercut there from Tate. Gunn takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Tate avoids the body shot from Gunn.
Tate bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Gunn's head backwards. Tate bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Tate doesn't manage to clinch there - Gunn circles away.
A low kick lands for Gunn.
Nice straight punches there by Gunn. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Gunn. Tate misses with a combination
and Tate takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Tommy Gunn dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Tate listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Gunn changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Tate tries to clinch but Gunn moves out of range. Gunn tries to counter by clinching up but Tate breaks away and moves out of range. Gunn circles away from the clinch attempt.

and Tate counters with a left to the body. Tommy Gunn is winning the standup battle so far. Tate closes the distance and scores with a big combo that sends Gunn crashing to the mat! Gunn uses the ropes to get back to his feet and beat the count. The referee looks concerned but he's going to allow it to continue! Gunn throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Tate misses with a double jab.
Tate lands with a hook. Gunn tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Gunn goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Tate lands a right hook to the body.
Tate tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Gunn throws a head kick but Tate moves out of range.

and Gunn counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Gunn is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tate can do to turn this around? Tate is trying to maintain a safe position but Gunn gets an underhook and turns Tate into the ropes. Tate is trying to push Gunn away but Gunn has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere. Gunn content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Tate wants to break the clinch but can't.
A short right from Gunn. Gunn with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Gunn's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Tate connects with a body shot that sends Gunn's belly button to the back. Tate tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A nice inside leg kick there by Gunn. That's going to slow Tate down.

Tate misses with a combination
and Gunn moves into the clinch. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Gunn takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Gunn manages to break the clinch.
Gunn lands with a cross. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gunn tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Gunn misses with a shot to the body and Tate counters with a one-two to the body. Tommy Gunn's cut is getting worse. Tate darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tate moves to clinch but Gunn breaks away and Gunn counters with a lovely shot to the body. Tate falls off balance throwing a combination
and Gunn counters with a good low kick that Tate was not able to check. Tommy Gunn is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Tate scores with a nice right hand.
Tommy Gunn's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Tate blocks the body kick.
Gunn doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. A head kick misses from Gunn. Tate fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gunn throws a right and a left that Tate avoids nicely. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gunn misses with a low kick as Tate jumps back. Tate tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gunn swats him away and circles back towards the center. Gunn keeps the fight on the outside.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gunn throws a sloppy head kick and Tate moves out of range easily. Gunn gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Gunn swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Tate makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Gunn throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and before Gunn can reset, Tate rushes him with a swarm of punches, sending him crashing to the floor, in all sorts of trouble! Gunn is trying to beat the count but we're up to 6 already and he's nowhere near. 7,8... he's up! He's going to continue! Gunn is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Tate tries to clinch there but Gunn circles away.
Oh Gunn is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! A combination from Gunn does no damage. Gunn seems to have got his legs back now. Tate swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
As Tate backs away, Gunn returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Tate misses with the combination.
Gunn lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Gunn throws a head kick but Tate moves out of range.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
William Tate will take that one after putting his opponent down more than once in the round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round! Tate moves to clinch but Gunn breaks away and Gunn counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Gunn misses with a kick to the body and Tate counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Gunn misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gunn throws a low kick but it's checked well by Tate. A right-left combo lands from Gunn. Tate ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Tate lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Tate throws a series of punches but Gunn avoids them all with ease. Good exchange - Tate coming out on top. Tate's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Gunn throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Tate throws a series of punches but Gunn moves out of range. Gunn throws a big counter combination but Tate scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. This has been an exciting period of action! Gunn takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
That's one minute gone in the round. Good standup being displayed there by Tate as he connects with a hook. Jeez, Tommy Gunn's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. Gunn moves forwards but Tate connects with a nice, crisp jab. Tate throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Gunn counters by moving into the clinch. Gunn misses with a knee strike.
Nice body punch from Gunn - that landed with a thud.
A frustrated look appears on Tate's face as he tries to break the clinch. Tate has had enough of the clinch but Gunn keeps him there for the moment. Tate misses with some punches.
Gunn lands an elbow that stopped Tate in his tracks for a moment. Gunn manages to break the clinch.
Tate tries to clinch up and Tate takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tate tries to clinch up but Gunn circles away and keeps his distance. Tate goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Tate scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Tommy Gunn's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice shot lands for Thomas. It looks like Ciro Terranova has been cut. Terranova looks to score with a jab to the body but Thomas is just out of range. Terranova misses with a two punch combination.
Thomas misses with an uppercut. Terranova saw that one coming. Terranova uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Thomas. Thomas has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. A combination from Terranova does no damage. Terranova ducks under a wild hook from Thomas. Thomas takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Thomas cracks Terranova with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Terranova throws a nice looking combination but Thomas bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Thomas misses with a combination
and Terranova counters with a nice body kick.
Thomas throws a shot from downtown. Terranova moves away and avoids it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Thomas darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Jab, jab by Thomas - just one landing. Terranova gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Thomas. Terranova is rocked! Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Thomas throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Terranova is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the ropes! Wow!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Jax Thomas! Jax Thomas is the new light heavyweight champion! Jax Thomas decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Durant throws out a head kick that Pain doesn't see coming - it connects and sends Pain crashing to the mat face first! He's bounced up to his knees and is scrambling to get back to his feet and beat the count. He's up on 5 but still looks a bit groggy; will the referee allow it to continue??? He's taking a good look into Pain's eyes and has decided to let it go on! It looks like Major Pain has been cut. Pain with a body punch. A glancing blow. Durant with a nice calf kick. Durant drops a shoulder and throws a biiiig uppercut that drops Pain onto his butt! Pain pops straight back to his feet to convince the referee that he's OK to continue. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Durant lands a nice looking body kick. A low kick from Pain misses and Durant counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. A low kick from Pain misses and Durant counters with a big uppercut that drops Pain face first to the mat! Will he beat the count?! He's struggled up to his knees on 7 but it doesn't look like he's going to make it... he's been counted out! This fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Kevin Durant! Kevin Durant spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.

It looks like James Braddock has been cut. Dickson connects with the punch. Braddock lands with a nice body punch. Dickson scores a knockdown with a big right hand! Braddock beats the count and gets back to his feet. The referee asks him to walk forwards and it appears he is OK so we'll continue the bout. Braddock is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Braddock tries to get into range but Dickson steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Braddock! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Dickson scores the big KO victory!
