The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brendle throws a lazy head kick and Narukawa counters with a lovely shot to the body. Narukawa scores with a nice strike. Narukawa connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Brendle has a takedown stuffed. Sei Narukawa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Narukawa cracks Brendle with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Narukawa has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Brendle to stand back up! Khan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Yamasaki. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Yamasaki controls the position. Yamasaki is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Khan looks calm but he's in trouble here. Yamasaki gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Helvig is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Gilchrist with a body shot. A looping hook to the body misses from Gilchrist. Helvig does a little dance to reset his feet. Helvig swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Helvig keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Gilchrist. And that is the end of the round.
