The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lacking stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lacking wants it to stay on the feet.
Lacking changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bob tries to avoid it but Lacking manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bob to the ground. Bob escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Lacking looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bob is fending him off so far but Lacking persists. Nope, Bob circles away and we're back to standing.
Bob shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Lacking counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Lacking.

Lacking pulls Bob into guard.

Lacking had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bob defends it easily.
Bob would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bob is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Lacking tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Broadway is fighting to break Hernandez's control of his arms but Hernandez is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Hernandez continues to stall.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hernandez shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hernandez showed some decent athleticism there.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Frank Hernandez.
Well Hernandez has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
