The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Neri displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Aoki. Aoki has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Aoki misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Aoki shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Neri as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Takeya Aoki. That's going to take a lot out of him. Aoki fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Aoki fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
