Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Casey Silk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Khorchi Tugan!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Francis DeMontford and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silk takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Silk misses with a double jab.
Silk throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tugan was covering up waiting for the punch and Silk finishes the takedown easily into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Silk accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silk trying to control but Tugan is working from the bottom.
Silk lands a couple of digs.
Silk wants to pass the guard but Tugan is keeping the position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Silk seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tugan for as long as he can get away with.
Tugan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Silk can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Silk has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Silk stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tugan swivels though and keeps the full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Tugan is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Tugan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Silk as he avoids it easily.

and Silk counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Tugan!

Silk cracks Tugan with a big right hand but Tugan just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Silk is looking to take a break and control but Tugan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Tugan tries to buck Silk off but Silk is having none of it.
Silk cracks Tugan with an elbow. That is naaassty.
You can see the frustration on Tugan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Silk works to advance to full mount. Tugan defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Silk tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tugan was well out of range. Poor timing from Silk.

Silk stands up over Tugan, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Silk is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Tugan is trying to keep Silk in close.

Silk slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Casey Silk overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Silk is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Tugan defends it well.

We've been informed that Tugan has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Silk seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Tugan is bucking up trying to escape but Silk cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
