The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Leonard tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but ryda paws at him with a jab and circles away. A telegraphed takedown attempt from ryda is defended easily by Leonard. ryda shoots in for a takedown but Leonard shows good takedown defense. ryda changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Leonard tries to avoid it but ryda manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Leonard to the ground. Leonard escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for midnight ryda. That's going to take a lot out of him. Leonard fails with an attempt to clinch.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sorenson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. A nice combination there by Sorenson.
Gagnetti fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sorenson avoids it really well and circles away. Decent striking displayed by Sorenson there. Gagnetti keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Gagnetti throws out a loose jab but Sorenson uses good head movement to avoid it. Sorenson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gagnetti. Sorenson throws a leg kick but Gagnetti sees it coming and moves out of range. Gagnetti uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sorenson. Gagnetti has a takedown stuffed. Nate Sorenson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gage Gagnetti. Nice shot by Sorenson. Sorenson is breathing heavily. Sorenson tries to bench press Gagnetti off him but Gagnetti keeps the position. Gagnetti fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Sorenson is looking for a sweep. Sorenson gets back to half guard. Sorenson wants to control but Gagnetti is keeping busy and won't allow it. Gagnetti not landing any meaningful shots this time. Gagnetti is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sorenson has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sorenson has one foot on Gagnetti's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Gage Gagnetti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sorenson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gagnetti to the mat! Gagnetti manages to get full guard. Gagnetti manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sorenson manages to get himself to full guard.
Gagnetti must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Gagnetti wants to control from the top but Sorenson keeps moving. Gagnetti throwing strikes from guard but Sorenson blocks nicely. Sorenson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Sorenson throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Sorenson. Gagnetti on the wrong end of a nice jab. Gagnetti is breathing heavily. Sorenson misses with a series of wild punches.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Gagnetti has his takedown stuffed and Sorenson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Gagnetti misses with a straight left. Sorenson punishes Gagnetti's body with a nice straight punch. Sorenson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gagnetti looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Sorenson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gagnetti shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Sorenson thumps Gagnetti with a low kick. Gagnetti doesn't succeed with the takedown and Sorenson counters with a one-two to the body. Sorenson thuds a left hand into Gagnetti's body. Sorenson is looking to wear down Gagnetti with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Gagnetti misses with a takedown and Sorenson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Sorenson cracks a nice hook into Gagnetti's ribs. A jab from Gagnetti finds it's way through Sorenson's defenses. Sorenson lands with a good body shot. Sorenson keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Gagnetti is fighting to break Sorenson's control of his arms but Sorenson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Gagnetti is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Sorenson scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Gagnetti has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Gagnetti is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sorenson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Woods's half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Jung lands a nice short elbow. Jung is taking a breather. Woods says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Woods wants to control but Jung is keeping busy and won't allow it. Woods regains full guard. Nicely done. Jung seems content to control from guard here. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Jung might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Jung postures up.

Jung seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Jung seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Woods for as long as he can get away with.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of JJ Jung. Jung tries to close the distance and clinch but Woods swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Jung is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Jung is working the ground and pound from guard. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Freddy Mohrruebe. Mohrruebe has closed the distance and engaged Shockner in a clinch.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Mohrruebe takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Mohrruebe lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Oh no! Shockner trying to control but Mohrruebe is having none of it. Shockner might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mohrruebe kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Sladen Shockner has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Mohrruebe tries to reverse the position but Shockner maintains control.
And that's the end of the fight! Freddy Mohrruebe showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mohrruebe, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
