2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joao Batista! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Taro Takaoka and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Collins tries a head kick but it misses.
Batista shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Batista was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Collins keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Collins is working hard here to advance position. Batista lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Collins fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Collins throws a hook but Batista avoids it easily. Batista moves out of range as Collins strikes. Collins throws a hook to the side of Batista's head but Batista sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Collins rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Batista moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Collins misses with a series of wild punches.
Batista looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Collins working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Batista doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Batista manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Batista's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Batista scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Batista sitting in guard, not really doing much. Batista postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Batista lands a couple of decent looking shots. Batista works over Collins with some ground and pound from guard. Batista slips nicely into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Batista with a nice head shot there. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Batista can do anything to dispel that myth. Batista is looking for a sweep. Collins is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Collins looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Collins is trying to work for a kimura but Batista is defending well.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Torrem wants to clinch up but Wilson keeps it at a distance. Torrem tries to clinch up. Torrem tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Torrem. Torrem fails with an attempt to clinch.

A nice inside leg kick there by Wilson. That's going to slow Torrem down. Torrem takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Wilson feints and then cracks Torrem's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Torrem down. Wilson lands a head kick!
Wilson dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Torrem. That did some damage! Torrem chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Wilson can pounce on him.
Torrem doesn't manage to clinch there - Wilson circles away.
Jeremy Torrem seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Torrem fails in his attempt to clinch. Wilson scores with a push kick. Wilson lands with a kick to the temple. Torrem shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" A low kick from Torrem is predictable there and Wilson counters with a nice low kick that buckles Torrem's knee momentarily. Wilson scores with a head kick.

That's one minute gone in the round. Torrem closes the distance but Wilson moves to the side and Wilson counters with a good, hard body kick but Torrem shrugs it off. Wilson goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Wilson delivers a nice body kick. Wilson lands a head kick. Torrem smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Torrem wants to clinch but Wilson slips to the side and Wilson finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Torrem is breathing heavily. Torrem takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Wilson lands with a kick to the ribs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Torrem takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Wilson throws a front kick that sends Torrem stumbling back into the cage. Torrem tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. A head kick misses from Wilson. Wilson connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Torrem takes a kick to the side of the head. Torrem takes a kick to the side of the head. Wilson rushes Torrem and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Wilson effectively controlling the action here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Torrem takes an elbow to the forehead. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Wilson gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Torrem trying to stall but Wilson improves his position.
Torrem can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight. Wilson is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Wilson lands an elbow inside. Wilson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Wilson throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Torrem's head. Wilson throws a head kick that half lands.
Wilson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Torrem takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Torrem sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Wilson connects with a high kick. Wilson plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Nakamura throws a combination but it was largely blocked by van Shrike. Nakamura throws a right and a left that van Shrike avoids nicely. van Shrike lands with a kick to the ribs.

van Shrike plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Nakamura throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Nakamura connects with a looping right hand.

Nakamura throws a jab but it's blocked by van Shrike. Nakamura stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from van Shrike. Nakamura jabbing away but nothing is landing. van Shrike thows a body kick. Nakamura tries to catch it but that hurt him. Nakamura looks gassed! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! van Shrike scores with a kick to the body.
van Shrike lands a nice looking kick to the body. Nakamura takes a step back to recover. Nakamura walks forward, straight into a front kick from van Shrike. van Shrike moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
A decent looking body kick lands there for van Shrike. van Shrike throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Nakamura.
It looks like Kazuya Nakamura has been cut. A good leg kick by van Shrike. Nice body kick from van Shrike. Kazuya Nakamura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nakamura throws a right hand that van Shrike ducks under and follows up with a left that van Shrike also avoids with ease.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peters throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Black scores with a leg kick.

It looks like Plauge Black has been cut. Peters misses with a body kick. Peters looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Black checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Peters misses with a body kick. Peters misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Peters throws a series of punches but Black moves out of range. Black cracks the inside of Peters's front leg. A head kick misses from Black. Black connects with a jab. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Black avoids the head kick by Peters.
Peters throws a right and a left that Black avoids nicely. Black works over Peters's head and body with a nice combination. Peters is breathing heavily. Black with a body punch. A glancing blow. Black fails to land with a series of punches.
Black lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Peters is rocked! Black is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Peters flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Peters is out cold! Black holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aoki Funkyama! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tarpulano Burdagul! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burdagul throws a jab when Funkyama was well out of range. Funkyama lands with a good body shot. Burdagul throws a head kick but Funkyama moves out of range.

Funkyama shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Burdagul napping and manages to drive through into side control! Funkyama thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Burdagul is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Funkyama off and has taken his back! Burdagul is trying to stick to Funkyama's back but Funkyama is turning into Burdagul. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Burdagul's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Funkyama. Funkyama pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Burdagul is keeping the position for now. Burdagul has momentary wrist control but Funkyama slips an elbow through the middle. Funkyama distracts Burdagul with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Funkyama has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Funkyama drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Burdagul dives on top into guard. Funkyama tries to land a sweep but no joy. Funkyama is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Burdagul is aware though and is defending well. Funkyama had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Burdagul defends it easily. Burdagul drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Funkyama manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Burdagul has Funkyama in his guard. Burdagul looks gassed! Funkyama thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Funkyama won't allow Burdagul to get back to his feet. Burdagul is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Burdagul wants to get back to his feet but Funkyama is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Funkyama postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Funkyama throwing strikes but missing. Burdagul has momentary wrist control but Funkyama slips an elbow through the middle. Burdagul working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Funkyama. Funkyama with a nice head shot there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Funkyama loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Funkyama keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Burdagul's head. Burdagul utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Funkyama with a nice head shot there. Funkyama slips nicely into half guard. Funkyama looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Funkyama winds up and cracks Burdagul with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Burdagul looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Ground and pound from Funkyama. Burdagul tries to roll over but Funkyama keeps him under control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Burdagul has hold of Funkyama's hands but Funkyama slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Burdagul is rocked! Funkyama maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Burdagul could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Funkyama has cracked it and Burdagul is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Funkyama!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paul fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bartone looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Paul tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bartone was well out of range. Poor timing from Paul. Paul waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Bartone. Paul fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Paul throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Paul looks to land a right hand but Bartone moved out of range. Paul moves out of range as Bartone strikes. A looping hook to the body misses from Paul. Bartone does a little dance to reset his feet. Paul tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bartone was well out of range. Poor timing from Paul.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bartone walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Paul ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bartone moves away. Bartone wants to clinch. Paul cracks Bartone with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Paul misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bartone.
Bartone shoots in but Paul avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Paul bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Bartone slips under a jab. Paul is looking to wear down Bartone with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Paul misses with an uppercut. Paul avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Paul takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Bartone looks to land a right hand but Paul moved out of range. Bartone uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Paul. Paul swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Bartone misses with an uppercut. Paul saw that one coming. A combination from Paul does no damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Jab from Paul. Bartone moves into the clinch. Bartone jumps into guard, dragging Paul to the mat.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bartone is on top in guard.
Paul looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bartone is one step ahead there. Paul bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bartone's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bartone wants to sweep here but Paul controlling him for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Bartone tries to clinch up. Paul throws the left hand but Bartone avoids the punch easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bartone shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Paul but Paul pushes him off and we're back to square one. Paul lands a nice looking body shot.
Paul thuds his right hand into Bartone's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Bartone throws a left and a right that both miss
and Paul counters with a lovely shot to the body. Bartone is breathing heavily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Paul moves into range and connects with a jab. A looping hook to the body misses from Paul. Bartone does a little dance to reset his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bartone bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Nice uppercut lands for Paul. That snapped Bartone's head back.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Bartone uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Paul.

John Paul dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Paul scores with a hook to the body. Bartone takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Paul thuds a left hand into Bartone's body. Bartone swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Paul counters with a left to the body. Paul connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Paul looks to land a combination. Bartone sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! It's a brutal combination of punches from Paul! Bartone is backing up but he can't get away as Paul lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Bartone and ends the fight. Great knockout.
