The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Galowanga throws a body kick that misses.
Gorgen Shnitzel looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Galowanga closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Galowanga lands in his opponent's guard.
Galowanga is standing up over Gorgen Shnitzel. Gorgen Shnitzel looks to escape but Galowanga dives into side control.


Galowanga wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gorgen Shnitzel, who protects the arm well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gorgen Shnitzel tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Galowanga wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Gorgen Shnitzel seems a little lost for a moment, as Galowanga dominates the positioning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Galowanga is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gorgen Shnitzel is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Galowanga remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Gorgen Shnitzel avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Galowanga.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The strikes coming from Galowanga are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Jae U takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
McGee wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Jae U controlling the position well here. McGee rolled but Jae U kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
