No joy there for Soaki, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Soaki tries for a takedown but Pappalardi sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Soaki looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
It looked like Pappalardi was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Soaki.
Soaki wants to clinch but Pappalardi slips to the side
and Pappalardi counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
A lazy left from Pappalardi finds it's target.
It looks like Tokoni Soaki has been cut.
Soaki throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Ning takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Ning throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kyoraku was covering up waiting for the punch and Ning finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Ning trying to control the position from guard on top but Kyoraku is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kyoraku looking to control but Ning passes into half guard.
Ning has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kyoraku tries to hold on but Ning postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kyoraku can do anything to dispel that myth.

Kyoraku flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Ning has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ning tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ning wants to control the pace but Kyoraku is squirming around nicely.
