9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Anthor Basilicus! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ah Puch closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Basilicus tries to get back to half guard but can't. The strikes coming from Ah Puch are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Ah Puch has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ah Puch lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Basilicus down.
Basilicus wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Basilicus is letting Ah Puch control him for a moment. Ah Puch is looking to take a break and control but Basilicus is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ah Puch is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

That was a bit too telegraphed. Basilicus clinches up with Ah Puch and pushes him back against the cage. Basilicus escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Basilicus lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Basilicus throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aranico with a nice cross. Aranico tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kurose was well out of range. Poor timing from Aranico. Kurose fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Aranico connects with a body shot. Kurose shoots for a double leg takedown but Aranico sprawls well. He's pushed Kurose's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Aranico gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Aranico is on top in guard.

Fuujin is trying to maintain the position but Tanaka is very close to passing his half guard. Still in half guard, Tanaka seems content to control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Shinichi Fuujin. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Fuujin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
