Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Iso Danny! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Small Dude! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Michael Johnstone and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dude pushes Danny up against the cage in a clinch. Dude is fighting off a takedown attempt but Danny is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Dude to the mat. Dude regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Dude tries to land a sweep but no joy. Danny has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Danny trying to control but Dude is working from the bottom. Danny wants to pass the guard but Dude is keeping the position. Danny won't allow Dude to sweep him here. Danny tries to free his leg and advance position but Dude is retaining full guard. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Ressler, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Legend looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! A nice inside leg kick there by Legend. That's going to slow Ressler down. Legend takes one on the chin but seems OK.
A head kick misses from Legend. A little jabbing left from Ressler on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Ressler misses with an uppercut. Legend saw that one coming. Legend shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Legend was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Ressler is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Legend off and has taken his back! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ressler is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Legend has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Ressler has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Legend taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Ressler doesn't care though - he's delighted!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reynolds throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nakamura was covering up waiting for the punch and Reynolds finishes the takedown easily into guard. Nakamura lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Nakamura definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Nakamura is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Reynolds has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at PhoQus Island Training. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Nakamura trying to control the position from guard on top but Reynolds is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nakamura is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Reynolds really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nakamura. Reynolds looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Nakamura misses with a takedown attempt - Reynolds sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Nakamura uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Reynolds.

Nakamura will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Nakamura looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That was a close second round but I would say that Hajime Nakamura will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Nakamura looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Reynolds tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Reynolds avoids the body shot from Nakamura.

and Havas counters with a lovely straight right hand! Havas throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Magomedov connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. It looks like Kamu Havas has been cut. A slow jab from Magomedov misses its intended target. Havas lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Magomedov throws a shot from downtown. Havas moves away and avoids it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Havas lands with a hook. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jones gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Xin Yi counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. It looks like Matt Jones has been cut. Xin Yi looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Jones needs to keep his hands up - Xin Yi had a free shot at his head there. Xin Yi throws a lazy right hand but Jones sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Jones with a lazy takedown attempt and Xin Yi connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Jones is rocked! Jones shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Xin Yi counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kyril Mostakaev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sikke Vonnegut! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Santiago Holmes and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mostakaev tries to clinch up. Vonnegut avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mostakaev rushes Vonnegut and presses him up against the cage. Vonnegut can't break the clinch.
Vonnegut's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Vonnegut scores with a punch to the head. Vonnegut tries to keep at a distance but Mostakaev has taken the fight into the clinch. Mostakaev is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Vonnegut to keep the fight standing. Vonnegut is trying to break the clinch but Mostakaev has him pressed against the cage. Mostakaev jumps guard but Vonnegut turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Vonnegut looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Vonnegut pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Vonnegut lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Mostakaev fails in his attempt to clinch. Mostakaev tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vonnegut paws at him with a jab and circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mostakaev rushes Vonnegut and presses him up against the cage. Mostakaev has been working on his balance at Cozad The Island, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Vonnegut. Mostakaev pulls guard successfully.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Vonnegut stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mostakaev swivels though and keeps the full guard. Vonnegut is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vonnegut's corner is telling him to maintain position. Mostakaev looking for a triangle here. Vonnegut is fighting it but it looks tight! Mostakaev pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Vonnegut is tapping out - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Kyril Mostakaev! Kyril Mostakaev decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Jackson misses with the ground and pound. Jackson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jackson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Jackson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Jackson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Leonard knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Jackson has hold of Leonard's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Leonard tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Jackson cranks the arm and Leonard screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Leonard, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Jon Jackson! Jon Jackson very nearly forgot to thank Island clothing lite amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
