Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Calvagh Reed! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Travis Odle! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Luis Engracia and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reed shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Odle pinned against the cage. Odle gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Reed tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Odle paws at him with a jab and circles away. Odle tries to clinch but fails miserably and Reed counters with a left and a right that stings Odle. Odle tries to clinch up and Reed counters with a two punch combo. Odle tries to clinch but fails miserably and Reed counters with a takedown into side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Reed wants to stand but Odle has his arm trapped. Reed swings around for an armbar but Odle sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Reed's guard. Odle gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Reed fails with the takedown. Odle tries to clinch but Reed moves away and Reed counters with a shoot takedown. Odle fights it but they end up in guard. Reed is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Odle uses the cage to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reed showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Odle.
Odle looks to land a combination but Reed avoids it well. Odle looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Odle stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Calvagh Reed. That's going to take a lot out of him. Odle is looking to clinch but Reed is avoiding it.
Travis Odle is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Odle tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Reed counters with a series of strikes. Odle will be more careful next time no doubt. Odle has taken the fight to the clinch.

Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Reed get's back to his feet. The fight stays on the outside here - Odle looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Odle doesn't manage to clinch there - Reed circles away.

Odle throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Reed blocks it with crossed arms. Reed dodges an elbow strike from Odle.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Odle. We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Odle in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Reed has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Odle is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Odle tries to land knees in the clinch but Reed avoids the damage to the body. Odle throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Travis Odle showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Calvagh Reed's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Reed misses with a takedown attempt - Odle sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Reed shoots in but Odle avoids the takedown attempt easily. Odle fails with an attempt to clinch.
Odle throws a right and a left that both miss. Reed keeps the fight on the outside. Travis Odle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Odle tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Odle clinches but Reed breaks the clinch and Reed cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Nice takedown defense from Odle. No joy for Reed on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Calvagh Reed. That's going to take a lot out of him. Odle tries to clinch up and Reed counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Odle tries to clinch and Reed counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Reed passes Odle's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reed is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Odle sees it coming and defends easily. Odle keeping hold of Reed's head, controlling as best he can. Reed is looking for a kimura but Odle is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Reed to get the leverage. Odle wants to control but Reed is keeping busy and won't allow it. Reed drops an elbow to the side of Odle's head. Odle is trying to control but Reed manages to pass to mount!
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Reed here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Reed working for a submission but Odle is keeping him at bay. Reed avoids the attempt from Odle to control. Reed throwing strikes but Odle uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Reed is looking to stall here but Odle recovers full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reed looking to sit in guard and control but Odle gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Reed controls Odle momentarily but Odle frees himself. Odle missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Reed keeping full guard, as Odle tries to pass. Reed wants to sweep here but Odle controlling him for the moment.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wise wants to clinch up but Flipovic keeps it at a distance. A head kick from Flipovic lands but Wise takes it in his stride. Flipovic bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Wise is looking to clinch. Flipovic lets loose with a powerful body kick. Wise will feel that in the morning. Wise tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Flipovic rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wise moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Flipovic lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Flipovic moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Flipovic shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wise pinned against the cage. Wise gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Flipovic fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Wise on the side of the head. Flipovic throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wise's waist but Wise gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Flipovic off to one side. Wise steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Flipovic. Wise dodges the punch combination from Flipovic.
Flipovic dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Wise. That did some damage!

Dennis Wise has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marko Flipovic. Flipovic looks to land a combination but Wise avoids it well. and Wise counters with a two punch combo. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Flipovic throws a combination that misses and Wise makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Flipovic misses with a two punch combination.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Wise shoots in for a takedown but Flipovic shows good takedown defense. Flipovic fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Wise has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Flipovic finds it's way round the side to connect with Wise's head. Flipovic moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Wise takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Wise takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Wise takes one on the button. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Flipovic, right into the meat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Flipovic misses with the combination.
A decent looking cross lands there for Flipovic. Flipovic is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Wise had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Wise gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Flipovic. Flipovic chopping away at his opponent's legs.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Flipovic's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Wise wants to clinch up but Flipovic keeps it at a distance. Flipovic lands with a kick to the temple. Wise shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Flipovic goes for a high kick. It partially lands. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marko Flipovic dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Flipovic lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Flipovic swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Wise. Flipovic throws a combination that misses and Wise connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Wise takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Flipovic misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Flipovic uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Flipovic moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Flipovic works over Wise's head and body with a nice combination. Flipovic throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Flipovic lands a left and a right that send Wise crashing to the mat, dazed. Flipovic thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Wise is rocked! Flipovic lands with a right and another and another! Wise is in big trouble! Flipovic lands again and this time it's lights out for Wise! A quality knockout there for Flipovic.

A nice inside leg kick there by Ai. That's going to slow Fire down. Fire looks gassed! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Fire takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Fire keeps the fight on the outside. Fire takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. A left lands for Ai. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ai throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Fire circles away from the clinch attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Ai lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Fire crumples to the floor! Ai milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!
