The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sondergaard darts in looking for a takedown but Namov gets double underhooks and turns Sondergaard into the cage.
Namov throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Sondergaard changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Namov tries to avoid it but Sondergaard manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Namov to the ground. Namov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Sondergaard has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Namov.
That kick from Namov tenderised Sondergaard's leg. Sondergaard is trying to keep his angry face on.
Namov leaves Sondergaard with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
And Namov counters with a quick kick to the body but Sondergaard blocks it.
Malek Namov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jakob Sondergaard.

Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Namov! Sondergaard is out on his feet! Namov rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Sondergaard is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Sondergaard is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
