0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joshua Halipois! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Halipois is looking to clinch. Kiki has managed to clinch.
Kiki pulls guard effortlessly. Kiki is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Halipois must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Halipois is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Kiki has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Halipois is looking to defend but Kiki has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Halipois! Kiki pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Halipois taps out and this one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sin Pier throws a head kick but Xavier moves out of range.

The fighters are pinned against the cage. Xavier manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Xavier fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Xavier keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

This has been an exciting period of action! Sin Pier shoots and misses and Xavier counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Brad Xavier has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jorge Sin Pier. Sin Pier throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Xavier uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sin Pier.
Sin Pier fails with the takedown and Xavier counters with a lovely straight right hand! Xavier looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Sin Pier has his takedown stuffed and Xavier counters with a two punch combo. Xavier throws a leg kick and Sin Pier counters with a solid body kick. Xavier throws a series of punches but Sin Pier moves out of range. Xavier shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Sin Pier in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Sin Pier sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Xavier connects with a nice short shot to Sin Pier's temple. Xavier sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Sin Pier defending well though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Xavier drops an elbow to the side of Sin Pier's head. Sin Pier trying to control but Xavier postures up.
Xavier lands strikes from half guard. Sin Pier is looking for a sweep. Xavier is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Sin Pier has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Xavier is working away from the top position though. Xavier landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Sin Pier keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Xavier prevents Sin Pier from improving his position. Sin Pier manages to get to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Xavier stands up over Sin Pier, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Sin Pier working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Xavier. Xavier postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Xavier won't allow Sin Pier to get back to his feet. Xavier tries to free his leg and advance position but Sin Pier is retaining full guard. Sin Pier working a defensive guard here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Xavier postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brad Xavier dominated that round. That's time! Xavier's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

An inside leg kick lands from Sin Pier. Sin Pier fails with the takedown and Xavier counters with a series of strikes. Sin Pier will be more careful next time no doubt. Sin Pier lands with a slapping head kick. Xavier throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Sin Pier counters with a good low kick that Xavier was not able to check. Xavier swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Sin Pier counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Sin Pier misses with a head kick.

Xavier throws a solid leg kick but Sin Pier takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Xavier. Xavier throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Xavier throws a series of punches but Sin Pier moves out of range. A combination from Xavier does no damage. Sin Pier goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Sin Pier scores with a head kick.
Xavier throws a combination that misses and Sin Pier counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Xavier thinking. Sin Pier throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A head kick from Sin Pier lands but Xavier takes it in his stride.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sin Pier is looking to stand up but Xavier isn't so interested in that idea. Xavier stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sin Pier swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jorge Sin Pier showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Xavier will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Sin Pier checks a leg kick. Sin Pier gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily letting Xavier counter with a right hand. Brad Xavier has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jorge Sin Pier. Xavier throws a right hand that Sin Pier ducks under and follows up with a left that Sin Pier also avoids with ease. Sin Pier looks to score with a jab to the body but Xavier is just out of range. Sin Pier is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Xavier rather than just go for the knockout. Sin Pier misses with an uppercut. Sin Pier throws a head kick that misses.

Sin Pier can't do much from the bottom here. Sin Pier is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Sin Pier wants to control but Xavier postures up. Xavier is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sin Pier knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Sin Pier wants to get back to his feet. Xavier cracks Sin Pier with an elbow. That is naaassty. Sin Pier tries to escape but Xavier is in control. Xavier lands a decent elbow from side control. Xavier working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Sin Pier is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Brad Xavier showed his dominance in that final round. I think Xavier has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Smith tries to buck Akhenaton off but Akhenaton is having none of it.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Left hook, right uppercut from Akhenaton. Amenofis Akhenaton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Smith looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Akhenaton! Akhenaton sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Akhenaton is trying to control but can't.

Smith throwing shots but Akhenaton is blocking nicely. Smith thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Akhenaton avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Smith.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Smith drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Akhenaton controls Smith momentarily but Smith frees himself. Smith thows a big elbow that misses. Smith throws and elbow that misses. Akhenaton uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Smith's guard. Nice move by Akhenaton!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Akhenaton accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Smith keeping moving, preventing Akhenaton from controlling successfully. Akhenaton has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Smith is proving hard to escape from. Smith throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Smith looking to hit a scissor sweep but Akhenaton is one step ahead there. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smith can do anything to dispel that myth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harris keeps the fight on the outside. Harris shoots in for a takedown but Rum shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Harris tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rum sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Harris somewhat. Rum lands a nice leg kick that just misses Harris's sensitive parts. Rum throws a head kick that misses. Rum lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Howards throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Howards tries to close the distance and clinch but Pitt swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Pitt circles away from the clinch attempt.
Howards tests Pitt's chin there with a solid looking shot. Howards throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Pitt has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Feingold has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Couture can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Feingold is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Couture is aware though and is defending well. Feingold isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Couture stacks Feingold on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Feingold connects with a nice short shot to Couture's temple. Couture is looking for a sweep. Feingold is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Feingold looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Feingold darts in and clinches Couture up against the cage. Feingold is pressed up against the cage. Couture has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Feingold down to the mat. Feingold avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. A head kick misses from Couture. Feingold wants to clinch. Tyson Couture is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Feingold shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Couture counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Feingold looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Couture passes into half guard.
Couture content to control rather than advance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Couture tries to pass the half guard into mount. Feingold knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Couture keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Feingold tries to get to full guard but Couture has control of the leg. Feingold is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Couture pulls his head out easily. Couture is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Tyson Couture. Feingold shoots in but no luck this time. Couture with a lazy takedown attempt and Feingold decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Couture's guard. Couture is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Couture sitting and controlling from the half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tyson Couture. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Couture, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
