Liaudin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Liaudin thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Liaudin shoots in but Lopez avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Liaudin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lopez tries to avoid it but Liaudin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lopez to the ground. Lopez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Liaudin closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Liaudin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lopez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Liaudin has knee on belly momentarily but Lopez bucks him off and regains half guard.

Lopez tries to get to full guard but Liaudin has control of the leg.
Liaudin is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Liaudin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lopez doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Liaudin.
Liaudin wants to pass to mount but Lopez is defending the position.
Aldo Lopez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Liaudin wants to clinch up but Lopez keeps it at a distance.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jess Liaudin.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Liaudin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
