Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Brandon Rose! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Henry Chinaski! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Sandra Marshall and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rose lands a really nice looking cross but Chinaski seems unphased.
Chinaski's coach down at PhoQus Island Training was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Chinaski's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Rose clinches up with Chinaski and pushes him back against the cage. Chinaski blocking some punches.
Rose drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Chinaski. Chinaski is trying to break free. Rose misses with a punch to the body.
Rose scores with a hook to the body. Rose has a couple of punches blocked by Chinaski.
Rose has Chinaski pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Rose pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Chinaski tumbling to the mat - Rose dives into Chinaski's guard. Rose drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rose jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Rose stopping the sweep attempt from Chinaski. Rose trying to control the position from guard on top but Chinaski is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rose trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Chinaski wants to sweep here but Rose controlling him for the moment.

Rose is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Chinaski is just riding it out for now. Rose eventually gives up the hold. Rose is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

It's a big risk for Rose but it's paid off an Chinaski is forced to tap! Nice work by Rose.

With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Freaky George! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Sandra Marshall and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! George misses the jab. Hicks paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. A left lands for Hicks. Hicks shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as George sprawls well. George wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hicks gets slowly back to his feet. Hicks gets in close and instigates a clinch. George blocking some punches.
Hicks tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. George blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
George will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Hicks up against the cage. George pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. A jab from George misses. Hicks lands with an uppercut that bounces George off the cage and back into range. George misses with a wild body shot. George drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Hicks ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Hicks feints a jab promting George to slip. Hicks then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. George slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Hicks lands a really nice looking cross but George seems unphased.
George stuffs the takedown. George looks like he wants to counter punch here. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lyman Hicks. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hicks tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. George throws a poor cross that misses
and Hicks counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hicks. Hicks misses with the head strike.
Hicks jumps guard but George stands there with Hicks around his waist. Hicks gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

George throws a body shot but no joy. Hicks is looking to counter the offense by George and move into the clinch. George throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
George tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hicks was well out of range. Poor timing from George. George lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. George avoids the body shot from Hicks.
Hicks takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Hicks is rocked! A big right from George misses. Oh Hicks is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Hicks moves away from the strike by George. Hicks fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Hicks is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by George. Lyman Hicks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. George ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Hicks tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but George swivels and escapes. George misses with a looping left. George throws an overhand right that lands on Hicks's shoulder, as Hicks tries to avoid the shot. Hicks was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. George misses with a body shot.
Hicks seems to have got his legs back now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hicks moves in looking to clinch but George pushes him off. George now looks to counter with a shot at the body. George displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hicks throws out the jab. Hicks uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from George. George scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Hicks throws a combination that misses and George counters with a lovely shot to the body. George scores with a nice right hand.

We've been told by Hicks's head coaches at A Stander’s Paradise that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hicks takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. George misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hicks.

George throws out a loose jab but Hicks uses good head movement to avoid it. George cracks a nice hook into Hicks's ribs. George misses the jab. Hicks closes the distance and clinches up with George, looking for a takedown. Hicks pushes George against the cage but George circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. George has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hicks finds it's way round the side to connect with George's head. Hicks dives in and grabs George's left leg, looking for a takedown. George pushes down on Hicks's head and hops out. George thuds his right hand into Hicks's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. George looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. George throws a lazy right hand but Hicks sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Freaky George dominated that round. That's time! Hicks's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Hicks throws a jab when George was well out of range. George takes a jab right on the kisser.
Hicks tries to close the distance and clinch up but George swats him away and circles back towards the center. George lands a nice shot to the body.

It looked like Hicks was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. George cracks Hicks with a good jab. Hicks throws a jab when George was well out of range. George avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

George saw that one coming. A combination from Hicks does no damage. It seemed like George was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. A looping hook to the body misses from Hicks. George does a little dance to reset his feet. Hicks misses with a left hand and George counters with a crisp right that sends Hicks to the canvas! George follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

Stomp shoots for a double leg takedown but Richard sprawls well. He's pushed Stomp's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Stomp fails with a takedown attempt. We've been informed that Stomp has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Richard can't keep his opponent in guard - Stomp advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Richard is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Stomp's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Stomp's back!
