Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Phichael Melps! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dong Hyun Ma! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Melps dives in and scores a takedown into Ma's guard. Melps distracts Ma with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Melps wants to control from the top but Ma keeps moving. Melps passes Ma's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Ma is staying active underneath Melps, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Melps with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Ma really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Melps. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Melps is working for a kimura but Ma is defending it quite comfortably.
Melps trying to control the action but Ma is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Melps keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
That's one minute gone in the round. Melps working Ma over with strikes. Melps thows a huge punch but Ma dodges it nicely.
Melps is trying for a kimura here. Ma looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Melps wins by kimura!

With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Inca Valero! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barnstein avoids the body shot from Valero.
Barnstein with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Valero to score with a decent uppercut. Barnstein takes a body punch but keeps moving. Valero connects with a nice looking jab.
Valero stuns Barnstein with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Valero comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Barnstein is looking to clinch but Valero is avoiding it.
Valero throws out a loose jab but Barnstein uses good head movement to avoid it. Barnstein lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Valero circles away quickly and effectively. Valero pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Valero looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Barnstein fails with a takedown attempt. Barnstein moves out of range as Valero strikes. Valero throws a big shot that misses. As Valero backs away, Barnstein returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. This has been an exciting period of action! Valero fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Barnstein manages to avoid it. Valero lands a big uppercut and Barnstein crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Barnstein looks OK. Valero waves Barnstein back to his feet! Barnstein is rocked! Valero lands a jab to Barnstein's midsection. Oh Barnstein is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Barnstein is breathing heavily. Valero throws a shot to the body.
Are you kidding me?! Valero ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent Barnstein clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bravo lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Bravo lands with a slapping head kick. Mohammad closes the distance and clinches. Bravo is trying to force a seperation but Mohammad has the dominant position. Bravo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mohammad stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Bravo. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Bravo throws a head kick that misses. Bravo throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Nice body punch from Mohammad. Bravo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Mohammad throws a left that rocks Bravo and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Mohammad dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Bravo regain composure!
It looks like Chico Bravo has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bravo on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Bravo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mohammad wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Mohammad fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Mohammad is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bravo has escaped the position, nice work there. Mohammad tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Mohammad lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Bravo down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mohammad lands a few punches from side control. Bravo is rocked! Bravo is trying to get back to his feet. Mohammad scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Bravo is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Mohammad can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! David wants to clinch up but Wofford keeps it at a distance. David thows a left - swing and a miss! Wofford throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Wofford uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before David has time to react. David lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
David fails in his attempt to clinch. David looks for a takedown but Wofford sprawls well. David looks to throw the jab but Wofford is out of range. Wofford on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. David throws a chopping leg kick but Wofford manages to avoid taking any serious damage. A lazy body kick from David and Wofford counters with a stiff right hand. David doesn't succeed with the takedown and Wofford counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. David throws a body kick despite being completely out of range enabling Wofford to counter with a crisp jab. It looks like Thierri David has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. David tries to clinch but Wofford is having none of it. Nice straight punches there by David. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of David. David tries to close the distance and clinch but Wofford swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wofford lands with an uppercut that bounces David off the cage and back into range. David is rocked! Wofford drops David with a straight left! Oh this is bad for David! Wofford dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williamson scores with a nice strike. It looks like Kyoto Fujiwara has been cut. Fujiwara looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Fujiwara swinging wildly here.
Kyoto Fujiwara seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Williamson lands a big right hand that sends Fujiwara crashing to the mat! Williamson stays standing though and waves Fujiwara back to his feet! Williamson with a body punch. A glancing blow. Williamson lands with a good body shot. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Williamson digs a good hook to Fujiwara's body.
Fujiwara walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Fujiwara limp body while Williamson jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Marion Williamson! Marion Williamson really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Sakura Style logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.

It's official - Savon has eaten all the pies! Johnson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Savon connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Johnson scrambles back to his feet. Johnson on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Savon. Savon obviously looking to wear him down.
Savon lands a big head kick that sends Johnson tumbling to the mat! Savon takes a step backwards and waves Johnson back to his feet - he wants the finish! Johnson is rocked! Johnson fails to land with a series of punches.
Oh Johnson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Savon ducks under a wild hook from Johnson. Johnson takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. That kick from Savon tenderised Johnson's leg. Johnson is trying to keep his angry face on. Johnson looks to land a combination. Savon sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Johnson on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Jimmy Johnson's cut is getting worse. A combination from Johnson does no damage. Savon throws an overhand right that drops Johnson like a sack of potatoes! Savon dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Nice straight punches there by Backson. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Backson. Tennyson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Backson moves away. It looked like Backson wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Backson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Tennyson walks into a straight right hand from Backson. Backson lands a nice shot that snaps Tennyson's head back.
Backson throws a right hand that Tennyson ducks under and follows up with a left that Tennyson also avoids with ease. Backson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Backson moves out of range as Tennyson strikes. Backson thuds his right hand into Tennyson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Backson connects with a nice looking jab.
Tennyson throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Tennyson lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Backson at a distance.
Tennyson takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Backson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Backson forces Tennyson back against the cage and clinches. Backson lands a shoulder strike. Tennyson gets control of Backson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Tennyson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tennyson keeping moving, preventing Backson from controlling successfully. Backson tries to stand but Tennyson is controlling from the bottom. Tennyson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Backson trying to control the position from guard on top but Tennyson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tennyson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Tennyson keeping moving, preventing Backson from controlling successfully. Backson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tennyson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Backson closes the distance and pushes Tennyson back into the cage. Backson lands a hook to the side of the head. Backson lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Tennyson backwards. A quick uppercut on the inside from Backson. Tennyson takes a shot to the head. Backson scores with a shot to the side of Tennyson's head. Backson lands with a light punch inside. A nice left hand lands by Backson.
The referee is keeping an eye on Backson - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Tennyson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Backson to keep the fight standing. Tennyson is looking to break free of the clinch but Backson has double underhooks. Backson manages to break the clinch.
Backson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tennyson, pushing him back against the cage. Backson will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Tennyson up against the cage. Backson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Backson works the jab nicely. Backson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Tennyson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Backson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Tennyson off and has taken his back! A bit of a pause in the action here. Backson controlling the positon. Backson missing with strikes from the back. Backson not allowing Tennyson to control his hands. Backson throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Backson slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Tennyson is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Backson.

Tennyson is trying to get back to his feet but Backson has full control of the position and if anything, Tennyson has just worked his way into a worse spot. Backson working for the choke. Backson is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Backson is looking to control Tennyson but Tennyson is wriggling around and keeping busy. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jo Backson dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Tennyson ducks right into an uppercut from Backson. Backson lands a nice shot that snaps Tennyson's head back.

Backson tests Tennyson's chin there with a solid looking shot. Tennyson walks into a straight right hand from Backson. Backson jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Backson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tennyson can do to turn this around? Backson moves into range and connects with a jab.

Backson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A left and a right from Backson both land. Nice combination. Backson throws a shot from downtown. Tennyson moves away and avoids it. Tennyson only half commits to the counter leg kick. Backson lands with an uppercut that bounces Tennyson off the cage and back into range. Backson lands a jab-cross combination. Tennyson throws a right hand that misses
enabling Backson to counter with a crisp jab. Tennyson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Backson lands an overhand right. Jo Backson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Backson shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Tennyson eats them both and turns towards Backson to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rob Hardy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Calloway! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Calloway connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. It looks like Rob Hardy has been cut. Hardy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Calloway tries to avoid it but Hardy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Calloway to the ground. Calloway escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Calloway looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Calloway throws out a powerful jab. Calloway feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Hardys jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Hardy fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Hardy takes a shot right to the bread basket. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Calloway lands with an uppercut that bounces Hardy off the cage and back into range. Hardy could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Calloway feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Hardy sprawling to the canvas! Hardy rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Calloway finish him?!
Hardy is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hardy leaves his chin hanging out and Calloway seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Hardy crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
