Cannon tries to bum rush Mode with a series of wild strikes but Mode uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Mode shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cannon pinned against the cage. Cannon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Mode fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cannon sprawls well initially but Mode persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Beast Mode seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cannon bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Cannon misses with a series of wild punches.
As Cannon tries to get set, Mode tries to push him back and clinch up but Cannon manages to avoid the attempt.

Cannon circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cannon tries to counter by closing the distance.
Cannon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Cannon moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Mode shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cannon defends it nicely.
And Cannon tries to counter it with a takedown but Mode pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Mode is breathing heavily.
Mode fails with the takedown.
Cannon's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Cannon duly obliges.

Cannon lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mode circles away quickly and effectively.
Cannon scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Cannon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mode tries to counter by clinching up but Cannon breaks away and moves out of range.
Cannon moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Cannon misses with a few strikes there.

Mode fails with a takedown attempt.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Beast Mode is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Mode feints and as Cannon raises his hands in defense, Mode changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Mode wants to control from the top but Cannon keeps moving.
Cannon can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mode controls the pace.

Mode stands up from Cannon's guard - Mode perhaps looking for a knockout.
Cannon has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A frustrated look appears on Cannon's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Cannon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cannon moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Mode shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cannon napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Trey Cannon seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Mode tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cannon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mode takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Cannon feints a jab promting Mode to slip. Cannon then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Mode slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Cannon lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

so Mode counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Cannon pushes Mode off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Mode looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Langdon lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Langdon seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kelly does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Kelly is refusing to be controlled, as Langdon sits in half guard.
Langdon works his way into side control.

Langdon has hold of Kelly's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Kelly seems comfortable defending it but Langdon has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Kelly is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Kelly is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Langdon couldn't care less - he's delighted!
