1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Niklas Kaufmann! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bloodfist closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Kaufmann prevents Bloodfist from moving into mount. Kaufmann tries to buck Bloodfist off but Bloodfist is having none of it. Kaufmann is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Bloodfist scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Kaufmann to see if he's OK. Kaufmann tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bloodfist wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Bloodfist is trying to ground and pound but Kaufmann uses the momentary lack of control by Bloodfist to regain half guard. Bloodfist throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Kaufmann on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Kaufmann wants to improve his position but Bloodfist is controlling well.
Bloodfist is keen to just control but Kaufmann is a slippery customer. Kaufmann tries to kick Bloodfist off but Bloodfist keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Bloodfist trying to control from half guard but Kaufmann is working away. Bloodfist thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kaufmann's head.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Bloodfist drives through with a takedown into guard. Bloodfist with a nice head shot there. But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bloodfist, into his guard. Bloodfist scores with a couple of body punches from the bottom.

Kaufmann rolls with it to try and escape but Bloodfist cranks on the arm and Kaufmann is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Killer misses with a takedown attempt - Taktarov sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Taktarov misses with the combination.
Taktarov throws the left hand but Killer avoids the punch easily. Killer shoots in but no luck this time. Taktarov throws a combination that misses and Killer counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Taktarov's guard now. Killer slips nicely into half guard. Killer is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's one minute gone in the round. I looks like Killer might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Killer is looking to advance position but Taktarov won't allow it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Taktarov tries to kick Killer off but Killer keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Killer has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Killer there as he acknowledges the shot. Taktarov fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Taktarov throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Boris Taktarov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Killer drives through with a takedown into guard. Killer passes Taktarov's left leg - he's now in half guard. Taktarov trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Killer manages to pass to mount!

LeBalls has a hand on Smith's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Smith takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
