With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jiri Perera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Be Bop! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Michael Johnstone and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perera keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Bop. Perera doesn't manage to clinch there - Bop circles away.
Perera tries to clinch but fails miserably and Bop counters with a nice body shot. The fight stays on the outside here - Perera looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Perera swings away with a body shot that misses
and Bop counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Bop throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Perera tries to clinch up. Perera throws a jab when Bop was well out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bop walks forward, straight into a front kick from Perera. Perera throws an off balance right hand
and Bop counters with a left to the body. Bop shoots in and gets a takedown into Perera's guard. Bop connects with a couple of short punches. Bop really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Perera. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Bop trying to control but Perera is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bop distracts Perera with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Bop working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Bop is in close to Perera's body, working some short punches and elbows. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Perera trying to keep a closed guard but Bop is proving a slippery customer.
Perera has control of Bop's left arm, preventing Bop from doing any damage. Bop trying to control the position from guard on top but Perera is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bop content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Perera has locked up a guillotine! Perera's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Bop is holding on here and Perera must be using up a lot of energy. Bop has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Perera gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Townsend lands a jab to Haley's midsection. Haley with a jab. Townsend connects with an inside leg kick. That kick from Townsend tenderised Haley's leg. Haley is trying to keep his angry face on. Townsend misses with a two punch combination.
Townsend avoids a lazy jab quite easily. No joy there for Townsend, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A jab from Haley misses. Townsend went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Townsend throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Haley takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Haley tries to clinch there but Townsend circles away.
Townsend seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Townsend lands a nice leg kick that just misses Haley's sensitive parts. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Haley slips a jab and a cross from Townsend.

Haley shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Townsend eats them both and turns towards Haley to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. It looks like Nickolas Haley has been cut. Haley shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Townsend really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Haley throws a combination. Townsend tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Haley misses with a hook. Townsend ducked under it nicely. Haley will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Haley lands with a hook. Townsend tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Haley throws a low kick, looking for Townsend's leg but Townsend calmly moves out of range. Townsend fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Haley has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Haley throws a front kick aimed at Townsend's knee but Townsend avoids it well. Haley connects with a single shot there. A telegraphed right hand from Haley misses the target. Townsend thumps Haley with a low kick. Pedro Townsend seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A solid leg kick lands there for Townsend.
Townsend keeps the fight on the outside. Haley throws a jab but it's blocked by Townsend. Haley tries to clinch up but Townsend circles away and keeps his distance. Haley's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Haley duly obliges. Haley misses with a straight left. Townsend scores with a punch to the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Townsend fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Haley tries to close the distance and clinch up but Townsend swats him away and circles back towards the center. Haley lands a really nice looking cross but Townsend seems unphased.

Townsend is trying to push Haley away but Haley has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Townsend blocks an uppercut.

Sloppy strikes from Haley. Those never looked like landing. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Townsend lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Haley has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Haley and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Haley lands with an uppercut that bounces Townsend off the cage and back into range. Haley will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Haley is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Townsend had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush. Haley tries to clinch up but Townsend circles away and keeps his distance. Jab by Haley.

Townsend seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Townsend throws a right and a left that Haley avoids nicely. Haley's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Haley lands a jab to the nose. Donk. Townsend catches Haley right on the button with a cross. Townsend throws a series of punches but Haley avoids them all with ease. Haley throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. The fight stays on the outside here - Haley looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Haley is looking to score with low kicks. Townsend moves forwards but Haley connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Townsend walks straight into a right hand from Haley - that's dropped him! Haley jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Townsend from any more punishment! Townsend complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Try pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Try throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Try misses with a straight right.
