Gardner tried to score with a low kick but McLoughlin checks it.

Gardner is fighting off a takedown attempt but McLoughlin is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Gardner to the mat. Gardner regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Gardner thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

McLoughlin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Gardner shoots in and bounces McLoughlin off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

and McLoughlin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gardner's guard.
Gardner is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

McLoughlin is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Gardner has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. McLoughlin is looking to defend but Gardner has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for McLoughlin! Gardner pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, McLoughlin taps out and this one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Velez.
A combination from Velez does no damage.
Velez with the inside leg kick.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Velez.
Velez swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Lamb counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Lamb is taking a breather. Velez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Velez pushes Lamb off, looking to escape but Lamb dives into side control. He's locked up a kimura now - that was fast! He's cranking on it and Velez is forced to tap! The fight is over!
