The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spence works over Shaarawy's head and body with a nice combination.
Spence looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Spence tries to clinch but Shaarawy moves away

and Shaarawy counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Shaarawy.
Spence is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Shaarawy dives into side control.

A lull in the action here as Shaarawy stalls from top position.

Shaarawy has hold of Spence's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Spence tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Shaarawy cranks the arm and Spence screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Spence, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Favlenishvili throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mercer's waist but Mercer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Favlenishvili off to one side.
Mercer throws a big counter combination but Favlenishvili scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Favlenishvili fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mercer to the ground. Favlenishvili is now in Mercer's guard.

Favlenishvili tries to get to his feet but Mercer is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Favlenishvili is in need of a savior and steps in!
