Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chatchai Chuwatana! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Fernando Aragon! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Winston Alpacca and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aragon wants to clinch up but Chuwatana keeps it at a distance. Aragon gets the takedown into side control. Aragon working the ground and pound. Chuwatana tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Aragon wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Aragon tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Chuwatana on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Chuwatana tries to get out of the position. Aragon throws an elbow but Chuwatana slips to the side and avoids it well. Aragon blocks the strikes from Chuwatana.
Chuwatana knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Aragon on the ground. Aragon creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Chuwatana sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Aragon works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Aragon working the ground and pound but Chuwatana is defending the strikes. Chuwatana tries to bench press Aragon off him but Aragon keeps the position. Aragon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chuwatana keeps working. Chuwatana tries to get back to half guard but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aragon in side control, throwing shots but Chuwatana defends. Aragon working the head with strikes. Aragon scoring with punches from side control. Chuwatana is rocked! Aragon tries to score with some ground and pound. Chuwatana controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Chuwatana is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Cozad The Island, so we'll see if he gets out of it. A big shot lands for Aragon! That's hurt Chuwatana! Will he recover? Aragon fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Slice lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Island at a distance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bloodgates throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Waters on the side of the head. It looks like Mario Waters has been cut. Bloodgates slaps away a takedown attempt from Waters, before circling back to the center of the mat. Bloodgates swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Bloodgates avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bloodgates circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Waters to the canvas! Waters doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Bloodgates keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Cowan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pierce but Pierce pushes him off and we're back to square one. Cowan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pierce manages to avoid it. Cowan misses the jab. Pierce definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Cowan throws out a loose jab but Pierce uses good head movement to avoid it. Cowan misses with a wild body shot. Cowan takes a jab right on the kisser.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cowan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Pierce knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cowan won't let Pierce get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Cowan lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Cowan prevents Pierce from getting the reversal. Cowan landing punches. Pierce tries to hold on but Cowan postures up. Cowan is in the full mount, landing strikes. Cowan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. BOOM! Cowan connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Finley Cowan dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Cowan is looking to score with low kicks. The fighters circle momentarily. Pierce darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Pierce uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Cowan. A little feinted left hand from Pierce on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Cowan fails with the takedown letting Pierce counter with a right hand. Cowan tries to clinch but Pierce is having none of it. Cowan throws a body kick, spinning off balance enabling Pierce to counter with a crisp jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pierce ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cowan moves away. Cowan shoots in for a takedown but Pierce shows good takedown defense. Cowan walks into a straight right hand from Pierce. Cowan goes for a double leg but Pierce avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Pierce continues to drive forward. Martin Pierce has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Finley Cowan.

Cowan engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Cowan chips away with some ground and pound. Cowan has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Cowan won't allow Pierce to sweep him here. Pierce wants to get back to his feet but Cowan is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Cowan scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Cowan with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Pierce wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Cowan is now in half guard. Cowan winds up and cracks Pierce with a swinging punch to the side of the head. That was a close second round but I would say that Martin Pierce will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Joe steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Maleszewski. Joe half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Joe shoots in looking for a takedown but Maleszewski manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Joe's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Maleszewski changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Joe. That's going to take a lot out of him. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Igwe throws a hook but Danger avoids it easily. Drake Danger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Igwe throws a shot from downtown. Danger moves away and avoids it. It seemed like Danger was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Danger looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Igwe looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Reid has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Jackson lands with a good body shot. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jackson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

A little jabbing left from Hutchinson on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Pai lets loose with a powerful body kick. Hutchinson will feel that in the morning. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hutchinson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Pai. Pai dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Hutchinson. That did some damage! Pai connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Pai with the inside leg kick. Pai shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Hutchinson throws out a counter right but Pai avoids it with no problem. And that is the end of the round. Tao Pai dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Will Hutchinson's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round! A clash of legs there as Hutchinson blocks the low kick. Tao Pai is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Pai lands a slapping body shot.

Pai ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hutchinson moves away. Pai sets himself, and Hutchinson steps forward looking for the clinch! Pai avoids it this time. A lazy left from Pai finds it's target. Pai misses with a series of wild punches.
This has been an exciting period of action! Pai lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Pai jabs Hutchinson to the body, keeping him at a distance. Hutchinson's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. A leg kick checked by Hutchinson.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hutchinson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Hutchinson checks the leg kick nicely there.

Pai lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Pai tries to land a front kick but Hutchinson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Pai scores with a nice strike. Pai dips to his left and cracks Hutchinson with an uppercut! Pai throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. A lazy left from Pai finds it's target.

Hutchinson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Pai lands a jab to the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hutchinson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pai.
Hutchinson throws out a counter right but Pai avoids it with no problem. Hutchinson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pai swats him away and circles back towards the center. Pai sizes up Hutchinson with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Pai buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Hutchinson misses with a left hand and Pai counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Will Hutchinson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Pai throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Hutchinson wants to counter with a clinch but Pai pushes him away.
And that's the end of the fight! Tao Pai showed his dominance in that final round. Well Pai has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
