The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kush gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hamilton to score an easy takedown into full guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Hamilton gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
A jab lands there for Kush.
Hamilton takes one on the button.
Hamilton wants to clinch up but Kush keeps it at a distance.
Hamilton doesn't manage to clinch there - Kush circles away.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kush enables Hamilton to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kush manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We've been hearing good reports from Kush's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
