The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.#TD# McDonald shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than McDonald was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: McDonald (4) vs (0) Kulik Kulik sneaks back into half guard. Kulik is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kulik is refusing to be controlled, as McDonald sits in half guard. McDonald wants to pass the guard but Kulik is defending well. Kulik has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at KFA. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Kulik is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Balkan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kersikov tries to avoid it but Balkan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kersikov to the ground. Kersikov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Balkan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kersikov defends it nicely. Kersikov feinted with a counter takedown.
