Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Varoujan Darchinyan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, JJ Jung! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Darchinyan feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Jung's calf. Darchinyan shoots for a double leg takedown but Jung sprawls well. He's pushed Darchinyan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Darchinyan moves in looking to clinch but Jung pushes him off. Jung tries for a takedown but Darchinyan circles away easily and Darchinyan counters with a lovely shot to the body. Darchinyan fails with the takedown and Jung counters with a nice double leg into side control. Darchinyan won't be happy with that. Jung lands a nice forearm strike. Jung has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Jung shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Darchinyan's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Jung showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Darchinyan is breathing heavily. Jung stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Darchinyan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jung wants to control from the top but Darchinyan keeps moving. Darchinyan being controlled here, momentarily. Jung slips nicely into half guard. Jung looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Darchinyan on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Jung decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Darchinyan fails with the takedown and Jung counters by moving into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Varoujan Darchinyan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Darchinyan letting Jung take a breather here. Jung jumps guard and drags Darchinyan to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Jung looking to control.
Darchinyan would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Darchinyan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Darchinyan stopping the sweep attempt from Jung. Jung is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Jung has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Despite being in the dominant position, JJ Jung just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Darchinyan on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Jung decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Jung frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Darchinyan is trying to stand but he's just given Jung his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Darchinyan wants to escape the position.
Jung is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Darchinyan has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Darchinyan trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Jung throws a series of strikes and Darchinyan wriggles onto his back, so he's now mounted. He's in real trouble here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jung takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
JJ Jung dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Darchinyan has closed the distance and engaged Jung in a clinch.
Jung manages to break the clinch.
Jung swats away the attempt to clinch by Darchinyan. Darchinyan lands a right hook to the body.
Left hook, right uppercut from Darchinyan. Jung shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Darchinyan pinned against the cage. Darchinyan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Darchinyan fails with the takedown and Jung counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jung. Jung landing some decent shots from guard. JJ Jung has got the better of the ground game so far. Darchinyan is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jung is controlling him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Darchinyan controls Jung momentarily but Jung frees himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jung controlling from the top position. Darchinyan is trying to keep Jung in close.
Jung controls from within his opponent's guard. Jung postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Darchinyan being controlled here, momentarily. Jung works a leg free and moves into half guard. Jung not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Jung sitting and controlling from the half guard. Darchinyan taking some punishment here, with Jung in his half guard. Jung uses his free foot to push down on Darchinyan's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Darchinyan.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jung landing shots from mount. Jung jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Darchinyan manages to avoid the submission attempt. Darchinyan is trying to get back to his feet. Jung trying to control the position but Darchinyan is working away. Darchinyan is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Jung has just dragged him back down to the mat. Darchinyan throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Jung is looking to take a break and control but Darchinyan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Darchinyan takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Jung content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jung shoots in for a takedown but Darchinyan shows good takedown defense. Jung tries to clinch up and Darchinyan holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Jung misses with an elbow over the top. Jung breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Darchinyan gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Jung counters with a nice double leg into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
JJ Jung showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Darchinyan tries to clinch but fails miserably and Jung counters with a single leg into guard. Darchinyan didn't expect that. Darchinyan looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Jung decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Darchinyan with a lazy takedown attempt and Jung counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Darchinyan tries to kick Jung off but Jung keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Jung wants to pass to mount but Darchinyan is defending the position. Jung seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Darchinyan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Darchinyan is trying to control but can't.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Jung postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Darchinyan to stand up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jung throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Darchinyan's waist but Darchinyan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jung off to one side. Excellent takedown into side control there by Darchinyan. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Jung manages to work his way to half guard, despite Darchinyan's best efforts. Jung moves into full guard.
Jung wants to get back to his feet but Darchinyan is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Jung wants to sweep but no luck. Darchinyan is sitting in close to Jung's body. Jung has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Darchinyan is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Darchinyan is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Jung.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Unto Haikio! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Raikas throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Raikas thuds his right hand into Haikio's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Haikio changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Raikas tries to avoid it but Haikio manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Raikas to the ground. Raikas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Haikio clinches up with Raikas and pushes him back against the ropes. Haikio pulls guard. Haikio had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Raikas is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Haikio Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Raikas's back instead. Haikio missing with strikes. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Raikas wants to get back to his feet. Haikio has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Haikio has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Raikas has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Haikio has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's one minute gone in the round. Raikas preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Haikio. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Haikio looking for the RNC. Haikio looks gassed! A lull in the action here.
Raikas is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Raikas manages to get to his feet, escaping the difficult position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Haikio showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Raikas.
Raikas lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Haikio avoids the head kick by Raikas.

Raikas with a body punch. A glancing blow. Raikas throws a series of punches but Haikio avoids them all with ease. Haikio shoots in and drives through. Raikas sprawls well. Raipe Raikas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Unto Haikio. Raikas works over Haikio's head and body with a nice combination. Raikas scores with a sloppy right hand. Haikio should have avoided that one. Raikas lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Raikas lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Haikio backs up against the ropes.

Haikio fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Haikio slips a jab from Raikas. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Haikio. Raikas does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Haikio looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Raikas is fending him off so far but Haikio persists. Nope, Raikas circles away and we're back to standing. Haikio shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Raikas pinned against the cage. Raikas gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Haikio shoots in but Raikas avoids the takedown attempt easily. Haikio looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Raikas! Haikio takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Haikio lands a heavy elbow.

Raikas throws a head kick that misses. Raikas shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. No luck for Haikio with that takedown attempt. Raipe Raikas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Unto Haikio. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Haikio wants to clinch. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Raikas, right into the meat.

Raikas wants to get back to his feet but Haikio drags him back down.

Raikas tries to sprawl out of it but Haikio keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Raikas manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Raikas throws out a leg kick but Haikio moves out of range and Raikas only half commits. Raikas throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Haikio counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Haikio wants to control from the top but Raikas keeps moving. Raikas wants to stand up but Haikio is controlling him. Haikio tries to stand but Raikas is controlling from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Unto Haikio will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Raikas connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. A slapping body kick lands there for Raikas. Raikas is looking to wear down Haikio with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. An inside leg kick from Raikas misses. A head kick misses from Raikas. Raikas throws a head kick that misses and Haikio counters with an inside leg kick. Haikio lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Raikas throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Raikas throws a jab when Haikio was well out of range. Haikio gets a takedown into half guard. Haikio slips a nice elbow through Raikas's hands, connecting with Raikas's forehead. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Raikas is not content to let Haikio control the position. Haikio is working for a kimura but Raikas is defending it quite comfortably.

Haikio is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Raikas defends it well. Haikio is looking to take a break and control but Raikas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Haikio might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Raikas kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Haikio tries to pass to full mount but Raikas defends it. Haikio seems to be looking for submissions.

and Haikio decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Raikas's guard. Haikio prevents Raikas from getting back to his feet. Raikas can't keep his opponent in guard - Haikio advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Haikio has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Haikio jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Raikas is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Raikas and Haikio has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Haikio trying to control the position but Raikas is working away. Raikas is trying to buck Haikio off. Raikas is not content to let Haikio control the position. Haikio goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Raikas has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Haikio but great work by Raikas.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wang avoids the head kick by Anthony.

Anthony throws a right and a left that both miss. Anthony tries for a takedown but Wang circles away easily and Wang counters with a nice double leg into side control. Anthony won't be happy with that. Wang trying to control the action but Anthony is working from the bottom. You can see the frustration on Anthony's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Wang stands up and we're back to a striking position. Anthony shoots and misses and Wang counters with a nice double leg into guard. This has been an exciting period of action! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tepanake shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Takaya as he avoids it easily. Tepanake moves in looking to clinch but Takaya pushes him off. Takaya scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Tepanake avoids a punch combination nicely.
Tepanake tries to close the distance and clinch up but Takaya swats him away and circles back towards the center. Tepanake looks for the body kick but Takaya saw that one coming. Takaya throws a nice looking combination but Tepanake bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Tepanake looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. A left and a right from Takaya both land. Nice combination. Good leg kick by Takaya there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Kenjahara kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Roll wit Uz by Thai. Inbutts has chosen Fear of the Dark as his entrance music. Peeing Inbutts struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 136.3lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Peeing Inbutts will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Inbutts. Inbutts is trying to escape the mount.
