Gomez looks to land a right hand but Derek moved out of range.
Derek raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Derek has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Gomez crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Derek - the referee stops the clock and Gomez gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Derek. Gomez manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Oh Gomez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Gomez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Derek sprawls well. Derek wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gomez gets slowly back to his feet.
Rodney Derek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gomez drops his hands momentarily and Derek needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Gomez just on the top of the head. Gomez drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Gomez - he's done!
