The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patter throws a hook but Invasion blocks it.
Patter lands a lovely overhand right.
Patter throws an overhand right that lands on Invasion's shoulder, as Invasion tries to avoid the shot.

Patter tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Invasion was well out of range. Poor timing from Patter.
Invasion feinted with a counter takedown.

Invasion looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Invasion displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Patter throws out the jab.
Patter swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Invasion throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Patter was covering up waiting for the punch and Invasion finishes the takedown easily into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Invasion creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Patter sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Invasion cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Invasion has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Invasion is landing with some decent strikes but Patter is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Patter can do anything to dispel that myth.

Roy shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. McCoy is trying to defend but Roy finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
McCoy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Roy on the ground.

Declan McCoy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marques Roy.
McCoy throws out a loose jab but Roy uses good head movement to avoid it.

McCoy is pressed up against the cage. Roy has hold of a leg and is looking to drag McCoy down to the mat. McCoy avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

McCoy lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Roy backwards.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Roy's hands are dropping dangerously low here and McCoy connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Roy scrambles back to his feet.

Are you kidding me?! McCoy ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent Roy clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!

During a confident post fight interview, Declan McCoy thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
