Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Liam McConnell!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Steven Brown and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maxwell throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

McConnell dives in and scores a takedown into Maxwell's guard.
Maxwell keeping moving, preventing McConnell from controlling successfully.
McConnell might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Maxwell haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Maxwell managing to control the position.

Maxwell escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McConnell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McConnell wants to control from the top but Maxwell keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Maxwell has his hands on McConnell's head, controlling the position.
McConnell lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
McConnell trying to control but Maxwell is working from the bottom.
McConnell wants to pass the guard but Maxwell is keeping the position.
McConnell postures up.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Maxwell lands a nice hook to McConnell's body. McConnell takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Maxwell on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
McConnell changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Maxwell fights it off and pushes away nicely.

McConnell shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Maxwell is looking to escape.

And that's the end of the fight!
Liam McConnell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think McConnell has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Davila wants to clinch up but Hobbs keeps it at a distance.
Nice sprawl there from Hobbs as Davila shoots in.
Davila goes for a double leg but Hobbs avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hobbs continues to drive forward.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Davila wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mario Davila. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hobbs swings wildly with an uppercut but Davila uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hobbs is looking for a takedown.
Hobbs avoiding damage as Davila throws knees to the body.
Hobbs is trying to break the clinch but Davila has him pressed against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Davila seems a little flustered. He's come in with the intention of controlling the clinch but Hobbs is preventing him from doing so, at least for the moment.

Hobbs misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Hobbs is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Davila to keep the fight standing.

Hobbs breaks the clinch.
Davila tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hobbs swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Davila pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Davila shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hobbs sprawls well. Hobbs wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Davila gets slowly back to his feet.

Hobbs shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Hobbs gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Davila shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hobbs pinned against the cage. Hobbs gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hobbs throws a push kick but Davila slaps the foot to one side.

Hobbs shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Davila is trying to defend but Hobbs finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hobbs has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Davila defend it? Hobbs steps over the head and cranks it - Davila is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Hobbs!
