This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 2 losses; Shen Po! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 51 wins and 27 losses; Enamorado Bandito! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and Ben Hemmingworth.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Bandito stuffs the takedown. Bandito stuffs the takedown. Nice takedown defense from Bandito. No joy for Po on that attempt. Bandito tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shen Po. That's going to take a lot out of him. Po fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Po shoots for a double leg takedown but Bandito sprawls well. Po is breathing heavily. Bandito displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Po. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Po shoots in looking for a takedown but Bandito manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Po's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Bandito stuffs the takedown attempt from Po. Po gets slowly back to his feet. Bandito is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Po misses with a takedown attempt. It looks like Bandito might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Karelin shoots in looking for a takedown. Praust tries to sprawl out of it but Karelin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Praust manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. #TD# Praust shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard.
